Redsan is signed with Rockstar 4000 but we haven’t heard much of him lately. Hata ‘shoulder back’ wasn’t much of a hit compared to his previous songs.
While being signed by a record label lightens an artist’s work, good music is hinged on tje artist’s creativity. Hapa Kenya ni kama wasani hawajitumi sana kutunga nyimbo nzuri.

True, watu hapa kenya wanalala, also I think Rockstar 4000 manages the artist, but we then have producers etc, Tz producers are on fire right now, in Kenya we have talent but few excellent producers and video content producers, music writers etc compare that with the video quality and music being put out by TZ

I’d say we have a problem at music writers. Video & music producers are there. Having a budget to shoot a quality video is the challenge that artists may face. Signed artists have that taken care of.
The media is the biggest let down to Kenyan music. They play too much foreign music while blaming artists of not churning out more songs hence the deficit. This makes me wonder, why should a KE artist release 4 songs every year yet their previous hits aren’t being played. Hapa KE shelf life of a hit song is 6 months, after that inakuwa zilizopendwa. When was the last time you heard E-Sir, Pilipili, Mr googz, Necessary Noise et al songs played on radio? Dela’s ‘Mafeelings’, Sauti Sol’s ‘still the one’, Just a band’s ‘Probably for lovers’ and many more are hits that don’t get airtime.

Ali Kiba has a good if not great manager coupled with his own impeccable work ethic, he is definitely bringing hits to the fans.
Tz artistes are more serious about the business aspect of showbiz so their industry is not slave to piracy like ours

Shida hapa KE ni some artists are egocentrics yet quality is wanting. Unapata msanii anaji-label sijui king wa flow, king wa rap, mara baba yao, mara grandfather.
