Deputy President William Ruto’s daughter June is the Charge D’Affaires in Warsaw, Poland.
Foreign Affairs Secretary Monica Juma made the revelation on arrival in Warsaw for a summit on security in the Middle East.
Ms Juma shared photos of Mr Ruto’s daughter welcoming her to Warsaw, posting “was received by June Ruto, Charge D’Affaires.”
June joined the ministry back in 2014, amid public denials by officials.
The officials clarified that she was working as an international relations and trade officer under the America directorate in Nairobi.
June has a Masters degree in International Studies from the University of Queensland, Australia, and a bachelor degree in Diplomacy from the United States International University in Nairobi.
Kenya does not have an embassy in Poland where the cabinet secretary is visiting.
A Charge D’Affaires in diplomatic circles enjoys the same privileges and immunities as other diplomatic agents and can act in cases where the ambassador is absent.

My question is this if a top government figure receives an application on his desk from a child of a senior political figure, can he even reject such an application. That would be career suicide I believe. I imagine June just applies for any job she believes she’s qualified for and let’s her last name handle the rest of business. I am pretty sure William Ruto doesn’t even personally facilitate such things, it’s just that the people in charge of government appointments know better.

And that’s my problem with this, she might have the basic merits for this job, given her familial privileges, but she might have forced her way into a position that could have been occupied by someone more talented than her.
Even if she did not land this job, she still stands to inherit birrions from her father. Most of which is rumoured to have been acquired dubiously. I must point out I am rumour mongering here, got no evidence.
That’s the reality of the world we live in, and it’s not peculiar to Kenyan politicians. Enda Europe na America uanze kuchunguza maisha ya watoto wa congressmen na MPs, their parents use their political connections to get them jobs. If the child meets all requirements for that job, I don’t see what the big deal is.
I think so too. Names will take you places. Ruto hata labda had nothing to do with this and was only informed later by June. Halafu pia ujue we are an ass licking society. Anyone will want to please Ruto. Its important to have friends in high places.

The lady is ok, hio ni jasho ya babake. Hakuchagua mwenye alimzaa plus this could be anyone, it all boils down to your parents social status na kama wewe ni mzazi, tia bidii and earn your rights too .this could easily be your daughter some years down the line…

Usiogope kusema ukweli. Ruto is corrupt. There I said it. Do you know Boniface Mwangi called him a murderer and Ruto sued him but left the case? Because in that lawsuit there would have come the part of revealing the wealth and its origins.
Ruto has his strengths but as far as corruption goes, he plays in the big league
