@Mathaais is wondering out aloud, who is aware that the safari Rally yaanza kesho. How ever much they try, they can’t recapture the glory of days gone by. The Safari Rally was huge, from the prezo flagging it off to the drivers becoming hse hold names. The whole country used to be at standstill during the safari.
Heres tomorrow’s update

Thanks @ES, for keeping us in the light…but in my eyes, this is a distant excuse offer the Safari Rally.
Joginder Sign, Shekhar Metar, Bjorn Waldegard, Patrick Njiru, Orie Manduli…they made the SAFARI RALLY an occasion to look forward to during the Easter school holidays.
The old Safari rally was so popular because it was a World Rally Championship stage event and enjoyed larger sponsorships since it was funded by the government plus a more serious PR until 2002. Now it is only a local tournament that many people don’t really care about.
However, there was a petition by the government and the Kenya association to bring back WRC to Africa(Kenya) in 2019 which seems to be going on. Jubilee development?
hawa watu hawaja tambua the power of heavy investment in PR, that’s why the only fans who show up to these events are the families of the drivers and crew. Kitu kama Safaricom Sevens used to fill up impala grounds on ngong road before greed ikawapeleka nyayo stadium but wakasahau kusustain marketing and PR, these days unapata media ndo wamejaa in a stadium that can handle 60k people, only hundreds attend
haha ongea na mrogi numero uno akupatie ile sleeper yake alafu upeleke kwa makanika 1 , itengezwe iwe Rally ready. Huyo Tapio Laukkanen apan taka mcheso hata niliona Ian Duncan ametii.
