Seems legit

In the field with some NGO vehicle. They do not take chances na gari zao. Biometric kit is installed. Hakuna cha cut out. Hii inawezakuwa mzuri for hot models kama fielder ama namna gani my friends?
On another note land cruizer is hardy but very uncomfortable

Io ni mguu yako??

I can feel the sweep coming. I have braced myself

Inasoma fingerprint ama?

Where did you buy a moccasin ? Sir

Ni mguu ndio ndogo au ni kiatu kubwa?

That’s not biometric, it’s a rfid reader , works with a passive tag

each tag has a unique id that’s programmed into the tracking device and a fuel immobilizer relay connected to the rfid reader, if the id checks out, the tracking device dis-engages the immobilizer relay and vehicle starts

When the ignition goes off, the device engages the immobilizer within x seconds and you have to swipe the tag again to start it

It’s majorly not for anti-theft but mostly for driver management, allows you to know which driver had the vehicle and when and also control who can drive the vehicle

That particular one looks like a dallas one wire

Yes. Kabla gari iwake lazima fingerprint. Halafu iko connected to their network via mysterious ways (GPS etc) so wakubwa Nairobi wanajua gari iko safe na ni nani ako nayo. But @amun has clarified how it works

Karema umetoka kudip mtoi cattle dip sai umekam kunipiga sweep? Navaa size 42-43. I dont think hizo ni ndogo

nilidhani hii ndio ile ya rfid. That senses the key door inafunguka na gari unapush button to start. Kama huna the key fob inakataa. But im glad ive learnt kitu mpya. Dere ndiye aliniambia anawekelea kidole kuwasha(biometric) i was not keen. I forgot to check. I doubt hata the driver anaelewa the thing well. Is it safer than this other tech ya kukaribia gari na key and it opens? Ama ni same. And is it the best security you can get?

kama ni cruiser pickup what do you expect?

Not pick up. Ile huwa full body. Sijui zinaitwa aje.

ni hiyo hiyo tu. just with a full cabin.

Check out the difference between passive and active rfid

The first photo you posted is for a passive rfid and the tag requires contact because it does not have an inbuilt transmitter and it’s own power (Google dallas one wire )

The second photo (the car door) uses active rfid ( also called as radio in some circles  ) hence why it’s able to open the car within a range of x meters based on how the key fob and immobilizer have been programmed (both reader and tag have power )

Hii ni L/C `76 model.

Kali sana.

The entire L/C 70`s model series are undisputed offroad kings.

Compared to a hilux how do they stack up? Ama hii inachapa hilux viboko? The body was pretty rigid. It felt utilitarian and no joke. Hilux feels softer. But some say a hilux is “unkill-able”

Hii ni homework ya leo:D. But why are they uncommon? Ama ni kwa fleet management kama trucks mostly? While on the same subject iko hii me huona but very very rare. Inakaa password lock. I wonder if you can get it fitted on any vehicle

vaa helmet

The L/C 70`s will carry the day any time. Their interior is basic.
Hilux is more comfy though.

Newer L/C are however having poor build quality.
Are prone to developing cracks kwa body frame that
holds the windscreen, na above the two front doors, and
perennial gearbox issues ukipata a bad unit by bad luck.
Had seen one bought zero mileage develop gearbox issues after 6 months,
was fixed by dealer under warranty, then recurred after 3 months, and again
after 5 months.
Problem was finally fixed in a private garage by an experienced mechanic after all the troubles
in the dealers premises. Same gearbox ilikaa 2yrs bila shida. Respect to the guy.

The older hilux models are said to be tough in some aspects.
Zinasifiwa kuwa zina injector pumps na alternators that are immortal.

Hizo viatu ni zile huuzwa soo mbili na mahawker huku cbd jioni .
