Nyakundi and other twitter “bigwigs” wanaclaim Mugenda amekatalia K.U. What they don’t know, VCs are interviewed and selected by the board. She’s now in her 2nd term, which ends next year.

The problem with Nyakundi an his ilk is that they think getting to Mugenda’s position takes a 100MB-a-day promotion from the networks to trend hashtags. It is many years of hard work and meaningful networking. Mugenda has done a lot for KU. Take a walk around KU and it’s satellite campuses. Also do not forget the scandal these bigwags were involved in trying to swindle Bidco of 50 million ksh. Anybody trending this hashtag bashing the VC needs to trade in their smartphone for a smart brain.

Mugenda has done a great job. In the four years I was there the change I witnessed was something that doesn’t happen in many other places. From a one floor library to a massive one with ever current books, from manilla library cards to smartcards, more lecture halls, better services for the physically challenged, expansion of facilities. If she stays in her position longer, more positive change will happen.

Woi Jesus christ on a bike! You should know most old campuses in this country have a history and have excelled in certain disciplines. K.U excels better in some disciplines than the UoN and vice versa, so if you want to criticize a university at least do some homework. Or even better, stay on topic and criticize @danji1’s post constructively he wasn’t comparing campuses!
