SGR Is A Loss Making Scam

Why didn’t the government just upgrade the existing meter gauge railway line instead of acquiring Billions of Shilling loans from China. Now our port is at stake and we might lose it. Uhuru is trying to save SGR by forcing people to transport their containers with SGR. What if container yako inaenda hapo Voi will you go to collect it in Naivasha?

and when did you learn this bana???

Tulia, tayarisha mafuta

Towns along Mombasa Road will be ghost towns in the near future

Not until we kill all the kambenoids.

Loss making white elephant or whatever you want to call it… as long as I can travel to the coast comfortably and SAFELY… sijali nani atalipa deni… improving the old line was not viable…

SGR is the best thing that happened to the kenya government. The results will be felt later and in the long term and by the way infrastructure is not profit based but for growing the economy. China grew it’s economy by connecting the whole country through rail and roads. A connected country is a very powerful country

Plus when last did u use the SGR??

SGR is here to stay. Get used to it.

What we’re feeling is mostly the effects of what they did to small scale traders and importers several months ago. Na hiyo hujuma bado inaendelea! Kazi za transportation zimepungua kwa sababu hakuna mizigo ya kubeba. Na ile kidogo ilioko inabebwa sasa ndio inabebwa na hio sgr. Na hata the frequencies of those sgr cargo trains have gone down. Kwa wale walisherehekea mizigo yetu ikiharibiwa, huo ukame unasikia watu wakilia ni ripple effect. It will certainly touch you one way or another!

Or so you think!!

Kama Thika Road was improved from a single lane road to a multiple super highway, sioni what was so hard changing the old line to SGR, given they are chinese whose Infrastructure back home is one of the worlds best.

Its just boils down to lazima watu wangekula hizo pesa za mashamba to inflate the total cost of that Railway

Boss… It’s like bieng told to add 100 floors to the KICC BUILDING… (do you add floors ontop… Or do you demolish the old structure and build afresh…

Why do you sound like spear…

Weh angalia land compensation ilicost how much in the total SGR costs before placing your baseless theories hapa. Its like buying a whole new house because sink ya kitchen ni mzee.

Hehehehe

Ooh God this is like complaining when horse sellers and breeders started loosing business to motor vehicles companies.
1 job created by inefficiency costs 3 other jobs…

We can’t just keep trucks on the road just for a few jobs then loose other opportunities brought about by the railway.

Lets just face it… trucks will be there for last mile delivery, and between small distance towns, transporting heavy goods from Mombasa to Rwanda in a truck for days is inefficient risky and expensive.

Very well put sir…we need to look at it as a long term project and realise that while certain things will change and hurt, there will be fresh opportunities ahead.
Additionally, why do we think an infrastructure project should come up and pay for itself immediately? Isn’t this ‘white elephant’ and ‘waste of money’ maneno the same ish we heard when Thika Road was being built?

Very well, look at the opportunities created, its like complaining how much money Thika Road has created after the govt spent 30Billion on it,
If SGR can pay off the loans and operate efficiently to just break even, we don’t need anything more from it.

After travelling to Mombasa by Bus, SGR and aeroplane… i swore never to use a bus again. SGR is the first option.

Hapa ndio shida iko, it wont break even in the near future, probably not within our lifetimes.
