Where can I get tested for sickle cell anemia? Preferably in Eldoret.
Does the doctors’ strike mean that I won’t be served by a professional?

A reputable and registered laboratory in that region should be able to diagnose the condition using simple blood tests that is carried out using blood analyzers. The blood analyzers will be able to determine the integrity of the patients cells (white and red cells) providing the information you require. There was/is a specific test known as ‘sickling test’ that can also be requested for and carried out to determine Sickle cell anaemia. The laboratory personnel are also professionals in their fields just like any other health professionals (Nurses, Dentists, Clinical Officers, Doctors, among others).
