Spark plug issues

I changed my plugs a week ago, my car stalled yesterday and on checking the plugs the igniting gap was too small, smaller than how it was when I put them, what could be the issue, I use the normal NGK

How sure are you its the plugs and not fuel??

This is the 2nd set of plugs I’ve changed in 2 weeks with same result , the plugs I removed were just fine, actually I returned them today

How can fuel cause this

So if it’s not the plugs, you should be checking for other ailments.
Where’s our forum makanika?

It’s the plugs, as I said the problem started once I changed them, I think I bought some fake NGK shit, fuck these Chinese

Bad fuel will cause a car to stall

OK, so you gotta go to a good dealer and buy the set that goes for 6k upwards.
If you know your way online, then you could try as well.
But again you’ll have to wait a while.

Yes, but as soon as I put on new plugs, the ignition gap reduces like the picture attached, I’ve resorted to returning the old plugs and the car is fine again

I use the normal ngk, not iridium

Maybe you are replacing with type that is not recommended

The one on the right is the new one and the one on the left the old one, the igniting space is very different, I just realized the tip is different too, the new one must be fake or something

Could be you refilled at a gas station that had petrol contaminated with water. Upon changing fuel stations the problem went away

How does fuel affect the plugs?

Hii kenya, nobody cares, these things made my car start misbehaving, before I thought to check the plugs nmesumbuka

Incomplete combustion. Unapata plugs zimekua nyeusi hapo kwa head yet they’re very new. Have experience in this. One time all the plugs from one side of the V-engine zilichapa gari ikazima Salgaa nikipanda mlima. Almost turned tragic. Tried jump-starting ikawaka nikapita juu ya bumps at over 60kph coz if I reduced speed gari inazima. Made it home. Following day mech anasema three plugs were out, the rest were juuust holding. It was last year when there were floods in nai and underground fuel tanks of some petrol stations were compromised.

I once bought spark plugs that were longer that recommended .On the first crank I heard some knock and nikazima engine .I remove the plugs and found that piston 1 and 4 had knocked the spark plug tip. There was no much damage .I installed the old onces and from that point onwards I stick to Impala and always ensure I counter check all the plugs before leaving their shop.

Get your stuff from reputable dealers and you have a right to return faulty products
