Taita Taveta County Govt drills water boreholes for domestic & irrigation use.

At last we have a country that is addressing real pressing problems.

The Taita Taveta County government is for fulfilling its agenda of ensuring residents of have access to clean water. The first borehole is done and they are aiming to provide water for domestic use and irrigation. More than 1,000 households expected to benefit from the borehole.

What is a bow hole mathafaka

A political career to most african politicians is mostly motivated and driven by self enrichment as most of these people usually hail from very modest backgrounds.
Rendering services like providing platforms of education, dispensaries etc to their respective constituents, has never been their political/career agenda, unless it’s a photo op when inagurating a tailor’s den in their local village, legislative work or vision oriented leadership is an allien notion to these individuals.

Water for irrigation, how huge are these underground water reservoirs to sustain irrigation ?
Hii ni wet dream.

Question would be, water abstraction costs? Who meets them and how?

was going to ask what they will use to abstract…wind, solar or kenya power?

Mboo hole?!!

Yeah! What suprised you! Yes it is possible

Roughly how much does it cost to drill a borehole .From survey to running water .

A hydrogeology survey should be around +100k. Drilling and casing around 8-10k / meter.
Pump cost vary

He meant oxbow lake.

There is no need to dream up grand projects which fail to be realised, in the end it turns out to be a waste of resources, building castles in the air, most have failed.

Borehole water comes from underground aquifers, which are replenished from rain water or other underground sources. Such small projects can be backed up with small dams, no larger than 2 or 4 Olympics size swimming pools. Most of our rain water ends up in the sea. It will require sustainable management of our underground water supplies.

Such projects though small can help ensure low rainfall do not severely affect the welfare of communities and will likely help stimulate other sectors of the local economy. Some of the most efficient borehole water irrigation projects are powered by solar panels.

Over half of U.S. residents get their drinking water from groundwater.
