1982: Student leader Mwandawiro Mghanga being led from the courts after being charged for sedition “against the lawfully elected government” of President Daniel Arap Moi.
He had been arrested in August 1982, in the aftermath of the 1982 coup attempt.
In January of last year, the High Court awarded Mwandawiro Ksh. 10M as compensation for unlawful detention in the notorious Nyayo House torture chambers.
