Wow. I miss Meru, it’s so beautiful, I would have retired there but mimi na baridi, ni kama maji na mafuta. Kwanzaa my shags is cold hadi unapata frost bite in July. Na elephants? No need for a trip to the Park, zinakuja kwa highway na watoi. Ile beauty iko huko wacha tuu. I love Meru so much though sijawahi is hii uko. We have home in town so it’s not as cold as ocha kwenyewe.

Everybody assumes that kama wewe umetoka meru kwenu kuma miraa. Mimi nilijua mti wa miraa nikiwa nje ya museum flani in Kenya, the curator upon hearing I am a Meru, told me, do you know this tree, ndio akanishow miraa. Kwetu sio kwa miraa.

Hakuna Mahalia kuna pesa kama Meru enda town kila mtu Ana the latest car. Wakikuyu wamejaa huko coz it’s a land of milk and honey. Wameru ni watu wazuri, wakarimu and very proud hata awe mtu wa kazi lazima umpe heshima zake. Shida tuu ni temper. Wale waarabu wa Manda Island naskia walitulaani tulipo toroka from slavery, mmeru akiwa na hasira, lazima aone damu ndio nafsi yake itulie.

I thank God nimetoka Meru, my house viazi za chips hazikosi, mukimo and ripe bananas. I am always giving out foodstuffs zisiharibike. Kuna siku when lockdown began I bought viazi za Kinangop. I ate them one time, nilipeana Gunia mzima, so tasteless. Sijai kula kitu tasteless hivyo coz normally I don’t eat mokimo outside my house unless kwa mumeru coz hizi za town ni food color na Musaveve wao huweka. Hata buffet I never eat mukimo bcz mukimo ya mumeru, lazima uweke mbaazi ama njahi ama peas. Then some green, either spinach or kahurura. Kama huna weka neem powder. Huwezi weka viazi and maize and food color ama kaurora pekee. That is not mukimo.

My constituency ni ya Mumeru Mutune, we call him Marete. He’s born and raised in Meru though he went to Harvard like the current governor of Meru. We are praying mama County Bishop Kawira Mwangaza will be our next governor. I am always seeing her on Baite TV Kaana ka Meru, huko machinane. Merus are known to break moulds. As Munya and Kiraitu are dividing votes on subtribes mama County atapita katikati.

Usione wameru hizi kazi zote kubwa and in every government wameru wako powerful and close to the powers that be its because ni watu waaminifu. If you are a president and you give a mumeru a substantial role in your government, you will never have headaches. It’s not coincidence. It’s their character. Even Ruto wameru watampigia tuu bcz wameru sio watu wa kuvunja promise kama wakikuyu. If we say tutarudisha mkono definitely tutarudisha. That is why Ruto anashindaga, he knows that they are loyal. And they are not very tribal bcz even Railas brother Mpuri Aburi has been getting votes yet he’s more of a Luo. Even the time we were Kibakis die hard supporters, KANU candidates like Maoka Maore were running in KANU tickets and sailing through. We have independent mind, we are not sycophants. We take someone individually not your tribe, race or even money. In every election Merus ignore very wealthy candidates in favor of orphans, teachers and other people considered to be lowly.

Let me tell you the day you will get a Meru president in Kenya mutajionea the difference. Like night and day. I consider Merus to be the Israelites of Kenya. I am extremely proud to be a Meru. Very. Napenda wameru sana. I feel so nice when I am in Meru everyone is talking Kimeru. Please Meru parents teach your kids Kimeru. I grew up in Nairobi but I speak fluent kimeru. Some of my cousins we grew up in Nairobi with hawajui Kimeru. Mkosa Mila ni mtumwa. The way you feel proud to speak English, French, German, Italian, Spanish also feel proud to know Swahili and your mother tongue. Africans are not uni or bi lingual, muafrika lazima ajue lugha kama tano hivi, 2 foreign, 3 local. My relatives with white husbands have named their kids Kimeru names bcz junguu surnames lack identity and like in USA they are named after the slave owners.

Otherwise big up to OP, Kama uko na duka Nairobi weka number tukuwe tunakupea order. Supporting one of our own.

Antu ba Meru turingere Mama County kura sia Governor, inya Njuri Ncheke ibakuona Ngugi eria aitete na mbeca ae mama county. Oni ntegete ntekoona Munya kana Kirautu Bena interest ya antu ba Meru. Baria I mbeca bategete nuntu bobaire mbakethera bae terms siao sa mudhia, ute Ngugi Baja bwitera imbeca bageta kuswa sia bakiuma kiti kya ngabana. Tugeria Mama.

Ni hayo tuu kwa sasa, back to you in the studio from Baite TV

why are you emotional?

Why aren’t you? Why did God give us emotions if He didn’t want us to be emotional? That’s why men die 10 years early bcz of not expressing their emotions. Kwanzaa Covid imefagia wanaume kufagia. Please learn how to be emotional it’s good for your immunity and for your health.

Kama uko hapa na unauza pawpaw bei mzuri come in inbox. Pepino melon and cantaloupe kama utaniuzia bei ya marikiti.

even sadness is an emotion…
Mapapai kujia kwa shamba

if you are interested into buying farm products like them you say or others depending on the season, i can connect you to my bro-in law who specializes in farming projects + farm products.

just as a tip, he’s actually preparing a big farm on the outskirts of somewhere in ukunda, the farm belongs to some somali family from majuu but due to his specialization, he’s preparing it from A-Z. (bush clearance, checking soils quality etc etc).

Are they doing it for export or local market? Or both? The soils there are good for horticulture and there’s market for the same on ground. Especially once tourism picks. Can he know where I can get seeds for pepino coz my dad loves them but I don’t find quality that’s consistent. I had a supplier but she moved to a farming town. Hers were consistent quality unlike marikiti.

With the current trend I’m thinking just having a horticulture garden is good because with Monsanto we are eating very carcinogenic food stuffs especially raw thin skinned ones. I was waiting for Tomato tree but it’s being tested for market.
