Have you guys ever heard of nyumba za extention, well I used to have 14 rooms each giving me 3500 Ksh per month, do the math (they got demolished because they were in private property incase you were wondering why I no longer have them), the money was good I never even thought about paying for my 7k bedsitter rent, at any point in time I could have easily upgraded to a one bedroom if I considered it but for some reason the more money you have the lesser some things tend to matter but primarily it was because I was on the verge of increasing the units 1 or 2 units every 2 months thus an increase of 3500-7000ksh every two months (imagine telling your employer this) and damn the rent every month was so sweet this in my life was the best money invested ever, so after the units and many others in that land were demolished I have since not recovered because all my eggs were in one basket that is in one area (all the houses in adjacent lands to this day have never been demolished despite being in public land, I would definitely be driving by now, real talk) , never really gave this much thought, don’t get me wrong though I of course knew the land had an issue from the begining but the thinking was if it lays cash eggs… it lays cash eggs, so the inevitable happened but I am on the course of reinvesting on the same, if yall ever heard the popular quote in the business world “you can never go wrong with real estate” then you know what am saying because even after they were demolished I still salvaged the mabati and mbao sold them for an almost fair price thus no hard feelings, hope y’all see from my angle… as a bonus if done right it would be a side hustle no more they will be saying “ule land lord na kitambi yake anakuja”
