The border wall

This is getting beyond funny, to be honest.

Kenyan MPs have asked how a 10km wire fence built along the country’s border with Somalia cost $35 million.

The government had originally promised to build a complex wall to run about 700km (435 miles) along the border.

But the “wall”, which was meant to stop al-Shabab militants from crossing into Kenya, has ended up being a wire fence that is only 10km long.

Kenya’s parliament has now suspended construction, and is demanding an investigation into the project.

Pick one, should I laugh or cry

in this case both

It’s really sad… Why does Jubillee government take economic and national security lightly : Is this gov really serious (anyway it’s understandable, security for peasant is never taken seriously) … Who would build a wire fence to ward off such a formidable terror group as Al Shaabab? This is a serious underestimation of the magnitude of security threats posed by Al Shabaab coz I don’t think they pose same threat as livestock or wild life whose movements could be easily curtailed by an ordinary fence… Anyway what can one expect from a gov whose agenda is to misappropriate public funds on one mega scam after another

Mnatengeneza fence halafu kina Duale wapitishie sukari na bidhaa zingine wapi. They will just build the 10km kuwadanganya then leave it at that

My take has always been that, a greater percentage of the al shabaab militants find their way into Kenya due to the laxity of our security apparatus. Majority buy their way through as most of our security personnel assigned duties at the border crossing are always ready to look the other way for a mere thirty pieces of silver. Now building a wire fence is nothing but a cash milking station for the fatcats in the njubiree gava.

That money would have been better spent properly equipping border patrol with more advanced equipment…

you will find urself doing both. hapa ni kucheswa tulicheswa
