Already we know that the estimate is 3 trillion. And we know that the budget deficit is 607 billion.

What we are curious to hear is the sources of revenue.

Will VAT be increased from 16%- 18%?

Money will most likely have to come from the existing tax payers.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. KRA has been unable to meet revenue collection targets because of evasion, and more importantly, decreased consumption. If they yet again increase taxes, why would they expect us to not amend our habits accordingly?

About tax evasion, yeah. Actually, I know of some few tax evaders and they have evaded excess of over 300 million combined. I have no idea on how the government will do to force people to pay tax.
