The current regime gagged the media. Rem the ict bugga saying sijui no showing of figures other than what iebc is transmitting… And the media dint fight back.

one of the responsibilies of your gobernment is to maintain order…
the media exists “for the public good”
life cannot be good for the public where there’s disorder
you get the drift…i hope…

CNN has a tallying centre and they can call elections…

It’s better that way, if left alone, the Kenyan media will give different result, that may end up causing tension in the country.
In 2002 elections. Waweru Mburu of radio Citizen, announced that Uhuru had lost Gatundu parliamentary seat to the Incumbent MP, something that was clearly aimed at swaying the Presidential votes toward Mwai wa Kibaki.
Fast forward to 2017, i can see a scenario where some media houses, would have announced results, from NASA tallying center.

Nobody told them not to tally their votes independently and announce them after IEBC did theirs.
Kenyan media and journalists are whack, always reactive and rarely proactive.

niliona shitizen wameweka fake map ati wanangoja iaiibisiii warelease results ndo waupdate just shook my head in amazement …yaaani all media houses both radio, print and tv could not deploy just one journalist in all the polling station???

Every polling station would be impractical but they can get the results from the 290 constituency tallying centres.

Hakuna feelings. Ni swali tu.

Kenya’s media is just totally useless.
Are they telling us they did not have even a single footage of returning officers reading the results out in the August election?
In a serious country, the likes of Larry Madowo would have called the Nasa guys in studio and asked them which Form 34B has issues. And then pull out the clip from that constituency showing the RO announcing.
The stupid fools instead decided to dedicate their resources to cover politicians gossiping at Bomas. And then tell us that they are waiting for Form 34Bs from certain constituencies.
And they didn’t even need fancy OB vans. Just a reporter with a phone camera and data bundles for skype was enough.

I think they should just broadcast when the IEBC officials at the polling station announce na iishie hapo. Mambo ya tallying waachie IEBC. In case of discrepancy, media tapes can be relied on. This could have saved us from going in to the repeat elections.
