The Mungai's of Tanzania..

Pardon me I stumbled upon this…(I read lot on African issues) while following the CHADEMA campaign…This senior Mungai was A former minister of Education having served as a CCM MP for a record 35 years…his Son the Junior Mungai is contesting the same the same MP seat in Chadema…I guess we share a lot of surnames with Tanzanians

I was doing some reading sometime back and stumbled on this…

It mentions the Kamba are related to the Chagga but I’m still perplexed as to how Tanzanians are called Mungai and Chege.

Just a random thought. Is the name Ngina originally Kamba or Kikuyu?

You will find that we share many Bantu names with Tanzanians… Met a Nyamwezi lady who claimed she understood Kamba very well despite having stayed in Tanzania her entire life. That Tanzania musician Chege of TMK wanaume got me thinking he is a Kenyan living in TZ the first I heard his name.

In Tanzania’s every hood there’s a Jirani like the talker here

Wambura is also a common name in Tz

That’s cross border ng’ombe ino.

Mungai is a kyuk. there was a time Nyerere asked Kenyatta ro give him some kikuyus who would be allocated land to act as role models to the “lazy” Tzians, Kenyatta sent a bunch of kyuks from Kiambu some of whom remained. A great grand aunt was part of the group married to the wider Mungai family direct relations to Magana Mungai

Wambura is a Kuria and they are more in Tz than Kenya. Lady JayDee is a Wambura

Hapo nimeelewa, thanks. I have a Tz buddy out here with that name.
