The scams that Kilimall is running and how I got burnt by them.

Kilimall is running very clever scams.

Yeah, yeah, I know, I should always read the views from a seller before I buy anything. I did. He has over 3000 sales with a 4.5 star rating.

The thing is that the 4.5 stars are fake. When you choose the 1 star section reviews, it mysterious changes to 3.6 stars and over 200 negative reviews show up. Kilimall is intentionally giving fake star ratings in order to aid the scam.

The next thing they do is put all the fake goods on their recommended pages and flash sale pages and then they send multiple notifications through their app informing people of the offer/scam.

So, last week, I was looking for storage options. An SD Card if you will. And lo and behold, there is one on the flash sales.

I see 128GB at 1000. It’s a flash sale. The normal price is 2000 which is about the real market price.
I do my check list

 1. Seller has over 1000 sales âś“
 2. Seller has 4.5 stars âś“
 3. Kilimall recommended âś“
 4. Flash sale justifying the low price âś“

I ordered the memory card. It arrived in 2 days flat.

The damn thing is barely 30gb in storage. After 30gb, it corrupts everything stored on it. It is also slower than a cassete tape.

I immediately requested for a return and refund.

Phase 2 of Kilimall scam begun immediately

The seller offered to refund 200 shillings. Mark you, I paid 1000 shillings plus the delivery fee.
Of course I declined the 800ksh loss making refund and asked Kilimall to intervene.

Turns out their refund policy takes over 1 month. Yes, they know that the seller is selling the fake goods. But they want you to either accept an 800 bob loss or ship the item to them (you cover the shipping fee) and then wait for a month or two for them to resolve the issue. The resolving isn’t a given too. During that month, you have to maintain correspondence with them and the seller and their pick up stations.

And that’s how they got me. No one has the energy to go after them for over 2 months . Basically, I have to cover multiple shipping fees (another scam) then wait for a month to pass in silence then start corresponding with them and hope my issue will be resolved.

Meanwhile the seller is still scamming people like there is no tomorrow. He is on basically every recommended page by now.

Too long, didn’t read. Summary
Kilimall is running scams. They recommend fake goods on their pages and notifications. Give the fake goods 5 star ratings. You buy. You ask for a refund. The seller offers refunds at a 90% loss to you. You decline and ask Kilimall to intervene. They tell you to cover multiple shipping costs and wait for 1 to 2 months to evaluate your issue and decide if to refund you or not (while they keep the returned fake good they sent you earlier).

It’s well known, If you buy electronics from sites like jumia, jiji, kilimall etc don’t cry later on, those are stuff unaenda shop unachukua. Those are sites unatumia kujua bei. Period

I’ve never bought anything on Kilimall, I just don’t trust the fuckers. This post reinforces my suspicions. I’ve bought tens of items (I’d say nearly 70) from Jumia and asked for two refunds. The first one was granted, even though their sales rep tried hard to get me to accept a product that was markedly different from what I ordered. The second one they told me point blank they saw no reason for a refund. Since then, whenever I buy anything from them, which is rarely, I always leave a negative review…regardless of whether I liked the item or not. That’s how petty aiyam.

I wonder how Jumia survives with all the losses they make year after year. Are they hoping to sell to Amazon? Or are they hoping to emulate Amazon.

Who is hurt by the negative rating? Jumia or the vendor who sent you a legit item?

vitu za 200 bob

Inakaa unazielewa juu ata mamako huuza coomer 200 bob.

I don’t care.

Kweli ktalk imejaa peasants, hii posts yote juu ya 1K only? heneway, next time use kilimall just to buy things like alcohol or condoms. Anything else is giving them too much credit

I’ll remember that, for the next time someone does the same to your business.

Ah, you’re talking about karma, right?
I still don’t give a shit bro :D:D:D
If I ask for a refund, I expect one so long as I apply within the stated time period. If you refuse then every seller that I interact with on your platform will pay for your arrogance. As far as I’m concerned, I’m buying from Jumia and I hold them responsible for everything.

I trust jumia. I have been shopping on jumia for over 2 years. I have bought and returned items few times and got fully refunded inc shipping fees. Their customer service is also much better. What i can say about theirs products…well its online shopping, so be fucking careful man!

About kilimall, thats a scam haven! I have shopped only twice! The first one was an extension for power which had broken one of the “legs” hapo mbele kwa kuingiza kwa socket:D I didn’t mind. The second one was a shoe rack - it took almost a century to arrive and while waiting, i visited their fb page and the comments were heart breaking. So i swore to pick my shoe rack in whatever condition it will be in and never look back. They used to send me emails about offers and crazy discounts. For instance, 1k discount only when i make over 2k shopping…doesn’t make sense really. Which i ignore of course

About jiji it has been said since time immemorial the site has VERY VERY HIGH chances of getting conned, mugged or even killed

Most likely ni cash cow, they were exposed as frauds after the listing kwa stock exchange, lawsuits zilijazana till today hawajai post a profit

I’ve also always suspected they are frauds. But then again, logistics is no easy business. Amazon too never posted profits for many years.

The gist of this thread ilikupita but you still had to comment.

i’ve been shopping from killimall for over 2yrs now and never had an issue, maybe because i rarely by electronics online , how long has this scam been going on?

Na vile nilikuwa nataka kuenda kubuy huko comp nilikuwa nimeona?

So much ignorance displayed on this thread. Sometimes I wonder if I am the only talker with a high IQ.

The problem is not Kilimall or Jumia, the problem is YOU.

Jumia, Kilimall and Luthuli avenue sellers habour similar characteristics. Some are genuine, some aren’t. Some sellers in town have a presence in Jumia and Kilimall.

Huawei, Vivo and that private Xiaomi shop in town have a presence in Jumia. Is there anyone here who has ever been conned by Huawei via Jumia? Even Carrefour has a presence on Jumia, anyone who has ever been conned by carrefour?

Oppo actually sells phones via Kilimall. Go check Oppo’s official store on Kilimall. Anyone here who has ever been conned by Oppo on Kilimall??

The answer to those question is a resounding NO!!!

What you and this @captain obvious did, is similar to walking into the first shop on Luthuli Av and buying the first TV on display. Chances are you’ll get conned and even robbed within seconds. Halafu utatoka hapo yapping like a whore who hasn’t been paid after being fucked in the anus. Whereas hundreds of talkers who know how to conduct due diligence have bought thousands of items at Luthuli avenue.

The problem is you!! Conduct due diligence first, understand how kilimall and this jumia operate. Seek genuine shops that run genuine physical stores. Call them if you have to. I once called that Xiaomi store in town and they confirmed that they have a store on Jumia. I used their services to buy and deliver a Xiaomi phone to Mombasa with no hiccups whatsoever.

Huyu @Scammed by Kilimall was probably sold items by a seller who doesn’t even understand how a simple flashdisk operates let alone a SD Card. Probably a seller who operates those shops in town where women wear heavy makeup and expect you to buy electronics from them. Btw have you ever tried returning a faulty flashdisk to sellers in those shops in town? Wataruka 30ft away!! These people are all over jumia waiting for the likes of you.

If you were clever people, you would check what systems Jumia/Kilimall have put in place to prevent scammers from taking advantage of buyers. Examples are stuff like holding cash in a temporary account while awaiting buyer confirmation. Setting a robust dispute system, Very solid online reviews etc. If these are lacking then you have to conduct due diligence and buy from 100% genuine sellers. I have bought lots of items from Jumia and Kilimall and I have never been conned. NOT ONCE!

I’ll tell you what. You and this @captain obvious imbecile deserve to be scammed. Caveat emptor baby!

How did you read my entire wall of text and come into the conclusion that I didn’t check the seller for quality?
You are so set on insulting others and blaming them to appear smart that you threw your reasoning and brains away. You are an idiot. Zero comprehension skills.

Let me copy paste parts of the post for you just once again in the hopes that you will understand what’s going on. But considering that you think that everything is a dick measuring contest,I doubt so.

It seems for long. The aftersale department is set on not refunding fake goods and making the process frustrating as possible.

Hell, I just rechecked, the star ratings change in real time. You can literally watch them change from 4.5 stars to 3.6 star rating when you try to read the “more reviews” section and then click on the 1 star ratings.
