My name is Tony Wamwea. I am 26 years old. I am a class 8 drop-out, but a competent and self-taught website developer. I got 185 marks in my KCPE exams, but did not proceed to secondary school because my mother couldn’t afford the fees. The failure to join high school made me try my hand at almost everything, including tyre repair business before settling in web designing and digital branding.
I realized that I had a thing for computers when I found myself at my friend’s house just staring at the computer and making a few clicks since I didn’t know how to use it. I later bought a desktop computer and a modem and began training myself on random computer topics, including coding and website design.
One day at cyber café, someone saw me coding and asked if I could design a website. Reluctantly – because I wasn’t sure of my skills – I accepted and he paid me Sh. 50,000 for the job. It was tough because I had to learn and work day and night. A few weeks later, the same guy referred a new client to me who paid Sh. 40,000. It occurred to me that I could earn good money from creating websites. I then registered a company, Antelox, which provides website design and digital branding services. I market my services on the internet, which has enabled me to get clients from 23 countries.
So far, I’ve completed more than 400 projects. Our minimum rate to design a basic website is Sh. 15,000, but some advanced websites cost more. I have learned many things in the process of growth, and I have met people who have taught me a lot. Lack of secondary and post-secondary education has not limited me in any way.

NEW IDEA.
you should never talk to any kids who have not received their KCSE certificate.
F.Y.I AM inspired by your story and happy to know people can beat odds.
