The typical Kenyan would rather slit his own throat than admit that he doesn’t know something, especially in business. For example, many people have tried investing in many ventures such as matatu business, shares, forex, bitcoin, telephone farming etc. Anyone who lost money in a venture will never admit that it was their fault and have a tendency to blame others or the system. The fact is, many others are doing the same businesses profitably, you just didn’t know enough to hack it there. I used to be like that too.
The ordinary Kenyan will tell you that shares=gambling=casino etc. They will never admit that they lacked the prerequisite knowledge to invest profitably.
Ask them about a matatu business and after giving you their sob story, they wont mention anywhere that they didn’t know enough about the business to hack it. It’s always other’s fault i.e cops, crew, insurance, mechanics etc etc. Yet, there are people who have succeeded in the face of those adversities.

Next time you are asked about a business, don’t be afraid to admit that you don’t know enough to hack it there. After all, you can learn. If others are succeeding where you have failed, the problem is YOU. You don’t have enough skills, resources etc to hack it there. Don’t blame that system.
