THE UNSUNG HERO OF KISAUNI

Help Me Spread This Message Until This Young Man Is recognised for his heroism. Somebody at the Mombasa County Government and the leadership of Kisauni Constituency need to at least appreciate the sacrifice this young man made during the Kisauni Wedding Tragedy where 6 people were killed when they sunk into a 90meters septic hole.
One of the survivors…a woman who is still recovering related to me how MOHAMED SAID KHAMIS saved her life.
The cover over the septic pit caved in just after the newly weds had walked over it…and then followed screams… seven people had been swallowed by the deep black hole 90 meters down… each one of them fighting to be alive…
31 yr old MOHAMED volunteered to rescue way before anyone from the county government had arrived…no one was willing to do go inside the hole bir he knew the clock was ticking and someone had to act fast…real fast if lives were to be saved.
He threw in a long rope enough to reach the base…hoping whoever was alive will get hold of it and cling to save life.
“Nilijaribu kushikilia kamba nikuwa shimoni lakini sikuwa na nguvu na nilikuwa na majeraha ya kuanguka mguu unevunjika. Ilikuwa mahali giza hakuna hewa ya kupumua…joto na miili ya waliokufa pia. Kamba ilikuwa inanikata mikono” Mwajuma Omar the survivor tells me.
Mwajuma struggled not to drown in the sewerage water that had already killed 6 others.
On the ground Mohamed decided the best he could do was to go into the deep hole and rescued Mwajuma who had failed to cling to the rope.
With no safety equipment but a rope on his waist he went into the dark pit until he reached Mwajuma .Once twice he tried to lift her up but it failed. He tied a rope around her waist. Mohamed decided he would carry Mwajuma from below…and he struggled through the thin oxygen …the darkness…the heavy load until he reached the ground an exhausted man…He had volunteered to save a life…and he had saved a life.
[COLOR=rgb(226, 80, 65)]In country that honors and awards people photographed eating a mixture of beans and maize on a polling station…lets not forget the unsung supermen and women of the country like one Mohammed.
Somebody take this message to Ali Mbogo and Joho and/or whoever can make a difference in this man’s life as a token of appreciation…he remains unnoticed not even a mention on mainstream media
Mohamed apewe Kazi to fend for his 3 children and wife who live in abject poverty surviving on odd jobs…that is all I am asking.

Kudos for his efforts, it takes someone great to risk their lives to save others.

Lakini, is this ‘90meters septic hole’ factual, that seems very deep.

True hero…stayed hio area na kila mtu ni roho juu hapo. I know 2 of the dead and the injured lady. Ni kagujo area karibu na kanisa. Condolences to riziki and all of omar epps family.
