The Youngest Black Boy Sentenced To Death By Electrocution & Found Innocent 70 Years Later?

A young African boy identified as George Stinney Jr, who was born on October 21, 1929, was convicted of killing two little white girls in his hometown of Alcolu, South Carolina, when he was 14 years old.

The bodies of the two little white girls whose names were Mary Emma Thames, aged 7, and Betty June Binnicker, aged 11, were found near George’s house where he lived with his parents. George Stinney Jr was arrested and taken to court because of this. When he was taken to court, George Stinney Jr was found guilty of killing the little white girls. So he was sentenced to death by electric chair.

George Stinney Jr became the youngest person in history to be sentenced to death in the USA in the 20th century. Before he was killed, George Stinney Jr was kept in solitary confinement in prison for 81 days. During this time, his parents were not allowed to see him in the prison. Even he was told to defend himself because court didn’t allow any lawyer to defend him.

While he was in the prison, George Stinney Jr always seen holding Bible and telling people that he didn’t know anything about the death of the white girls. After 81 days in the prison, court decided to sentence him to death by electrocution. So his hair was shaved, he was strapped to an electric chair and then electrocuted with 5,380 volts in his head.

After losing his life to the cold hands of death over a crime he didn’t commit, his body was buried in Cavalry Baptist Church Cemetery, Canada. But 70 years later after his death, a judge in South Carolina found out that George Stinney Jr was set up just because he was a black. But there was nothing he can do about it because the innocent boy, George Stinney Jr, has been killed for the crime he didn’t commit.
