Thieving Mechanics

Last weekend I decided to service one jalopy, a corolla. It had a problem with the steering column and with the help of my mechanic, we bought it at 15k. Today, since I am wearing casual, I was sure the guy wouldn’t remember me. I went and asked the price of that column akakatalia 8k. I was conned a whooping 7k!!!Someone just lost his job. Nitakuwa najinunulia kila kitu personally napea mech anaweka. :mad::mad:…

Kwani wewe huvaa suti kila siki?

Zii. Mimi hata sina kazi ya ofisi but hiyo day nilivaa official because I was meeting a client pale two rivers.

Usijali. Atasumbuka maisha yake yote na pia apoteze nywele za kichwa.

Hapana. Nimecatch mafeelings za hasira

:smiley: :smiley: at least alikuiba legally “willing buyer willing seller” … Sitasema karma

Niaje kijana?

Some meks spend the whole day comig up with ways of swindling you…you didnt stand a chance. solution is to have 2 or 3 mekaz scattered around the city who you can trust, you can easily counter check prices during emergencies.

Wanaibanga sana. lakini pia steering column inalingana condition, trim, na kama iko na vitu kama steerring wheel(includes airbag), and finally, where it is from. You dont expect something salvaged from totaled vehicles to cost the same as an ex-japan import. but you cant expect your mech not to make something over the real price. it could go up to 60k and could also be dirt cheap if its taken off a locally chopped car.

He bargains comfortably seated in a car

Ni ile madeni ume kataa kulipa. Ya duniani ni hapa hapa my fren.

A good friend of mine owns a spare parts shop, so this is what happens, mechanics are the ones who bring clients so lazma awaeke mpangoni, so mech anajua wananeed kureplace shocks* moja ni say KSH. 2500 , mech calls my friend anamwambia nakuja na client kununua shock nitafutie Thao, so mech comes and innocently says tunataka shock ya fielder, my friend will tell this customer its say Ksh.3800, ndio a bargain ikuje say 3500 or 3300, mech anakujia 800-1000 yake baadaye, the amount increases with the cost of the part being bought, kubali tu, pia kama mwenye anauza no employee lazma ajitafutie kakitu, I have seen a mech make 15000 from the sale of an engine, feashara ni fearshara

Vumilia tuu…hata ukinunua mwenyewe the dealer can decide to con you three times the actual price na ufikirie ati umeangukia.

The day my mech used my parts after lying he bought new ones, and charged me, was the day I bought an overall and started investing slowly in tools and a diagnostic kit.

I only go to mechs when I’m exhausted. After I’ve bought the part myself from wherever. And even then, I direct the work.

@introvert hebu kuja kidogo
