This war on corruption....

From parastatal directors to county govts, one thing is clear, treasury does not dish out funds so easily. In fact, in most case the contractor has to initiate the project with their own funds. In the case of the Kerio dams, it seem treasury paid without hestitation as if someone high above gave the orders. The DP likes to say he is the coordinator of govt projects so he should be answerable too. However, this war is not about the DP or any other individual, it’s about interests. While populist politics of 2022 might be at play, it is not about 2022. Instead, this war on graft is about western interests. From the statements made by the ambassadors of UK and US about graft, it is clear the West is pushing this agenda. I believe they are trying to distract us from the big 4 agenda. The end goal is keep Kenya in its low income status so that we are always dependent on them. Remember it’s nothing new we had Goldenberg in 92 and Anglo leasing in 2006. In both case, the finance minister was kicked out.

Big 4 agenda? That plan is not attainable You knkw that we know that and uhuru knows that.
And the western society does not need to push any sort of agenda as we already are self sabotaging ourselves its just that they are watching us and not doing anything na siwalaumu for that.

Remember no nation has friends only interests.

If I’ve said it once, I have said it a million times.

Corruption in Kenya will not be eliminated from the top.
The day you personally refuse to accept a bribe in your own position no matter how insignificant whether as a police officer, school principal etc… that will be the day corruption gets eliminated.

If everyone refused to take bribes and kickbacks, soon enough a fair and more Just society will be born.

The fight against corruption starts with YOU!

Spot on, but thats hard.

The little fellows have no power, those in positions do. As a little man, you are left with no choice when you realize the person you are dealing with and those above him are all in the corruption game. That traffic policeman will not dare collect a cent from motorists if he knows his boss does not condone the practice. When the corruption bug crept on safaricom, people lost jobs instantly because those at the top exercised zero tolerance on matters corruption. Compare that to companies like Kenya Power, where even the lowest-ranking employees will do everything to get a few shillings off you. When the people at the top are straight, everyone else falls in line. When the boss is crooked, those beneath will outdo him in vices.
I have seen people stand their ground only for them to discover much later that even judge has been enlisted by the opposing side.

I think corruption is sweet word put in our minds by low life thieves to confuse us, world over there is corruption, then there is thievery, we need to separate the two, giving a police officer 500/- to let you go for not putting on your safety belt is corruption, this word lumps you together with Rotich Ruto and Kidero. The three are thieves full stop.

siwezi tetea mkora unless tulikula na yeye, even if he is my tribesman…
i did some services for govt in 2016, upto today was never paid - pesa hata haifiki 1m…

then unaskia mtu alipewa 1B n delivered nothing… wakule ujeuri yao

as if leaders stealing makes us all rich … hii ndio inaitwa pedestrian reasoning…!

using your stupid argument , it’s right to conclude that during moi’s era everybody was eating shawarma and octopus coz everybody was stealing left right and center , senji noogle !

Kambuyu, I partly agree with you that fighting corruption starts with you and me. But let’s look at it this way, what if the systems were put in order and followed through. A system whereby I could challenge a police officer for evidence in a police station without being victimized, a system whereby I could get my passport within the stipulated timeline without greasing anyone’s hand, a system whereby laws would be followed by all equally, a system whereby I’ll be sure of punishment should I commit an offence regardless of my standing in the society. As Kush I wont see no reason to engage in corruption. But the way it is it will be a long time before any meaningful change can be realised.

Those systems are already in place but they’re not being followed because everyone in Kenya doesn’t believe that they can simply do what they’re Paid to do without being bribed!
That’s why it has to start with individuals and then hopefully it grows to become the norm and the new culture.
Instead of seeing an opportunity to get a bribe, look at it as your duty to help your fellow citizen.
In time, everyone will be doing their job not only because they get paid for it, but because it’s their contribution towards a better society for all.

That’s what the wazungu do and in the end they generally live in a very equitable and fair society.

Corruption is nothing more than myopic selfishness.

Hehe mimi nili deliver goods to a govt parastatal in january 2016 worth 100K na mpaka leo sijalipwa hadi nili kif up kitambo.

I helped a guy fast track a transaction, he had to ask a colleague if I am legit since I didn’t ask for a bribe, that’s the sad reality of Kenya.

When we are done with the bribe culture and services are offered as they are supposed to, it will be a sure way of starting the journey towards self realization and saying no to akina @pamba in dem face
