We’ve seen this before. Christians are obsessed with homosexuals probably because Jesus might have been gay himself. He never married. He had 12 boyfriends. He forbid men to have lustful thoughts about women and required his men to put him first. He especially loved John more than the others and then there was that strange incident written in Mark about a naked youth running off when they both got disturbed Roman soldiers. That would explain a lot of things about Catholic priests and ministers too. And considering all the pedophiles in Christianity you’d think these religious morons would quietly turn the other cheek, eh, so to speak, to not call attention to themselves. But they do love attention don’t they?
When Haiti suffered enormous earthquakes where over 250,000 innocent people died. Pat Robertson blamed it on Haitians because they made a deal with the devil. When Superstorm Sandy hit the New York Rev. John McTernan said it was because of homosexuals. Rev. Franklin Graham blamed Hurricane Katrina on orgies in New Orleans and tolerance of homosexuals. Of course when cities like Houston get hit, they don’t say much. I guess they don’t want anyone bringing attention to the gay rodeos in Houston?
When Christians are not condemning gay people they condemn women. Christianity at its core is misogynist, but it’s also anti-semetic and pro-slavery. Not a single condemnation in any of the biblical fairy tales that condemns slavery. Even rape is OK in certain contexts. And this is tragic because many deluded and dimwitted believe the bible is a good book.
Of course you can cherry pick from the bible in the same way you can find good points about Adolf Hitler. For example, Hitler hated cruelty to animals and was a vegetarian. Hitler was also antivivisectionist but that didn’t seem to extend to Josef Mengele vivisecting humans. Much like bible cherry pickers, you can do the same for psychopaths. Sorry but it just doesn’t work on intelligent people.
Everyday I become more and more convinced Christianity and other absurd religious delusions are caused by serious mental disorders and mental illness. Actually this can be found in psychiatric literature which is why I don’t say that lightly. Christianity rises to the top of the heap on human pathology because it’s so interwoven into our everyday lives and for so many years. Very much like other diseases that plague humans we simply accept its existence as an everyday fact. Some hope for a cure.
Wouldn’t it be newsworthy if one day millions of Christians woke up in the morning, accepted reality and realize there is a real world they’ve been missing out on? Won’t they feel a bit embarrassed when they realize they’ve been acting and talking nonsense for a really long time? By some miracle(sic) when Christians finally grow a few more IQ points and understand the scientific facts and evidence supporting global warming is overwhelming as it does for other scientific facts found in geology, evolution, genetics, astronomy, physics, etc. we will have a much better world to live in.
Treat religious nuts with the same respect you would give to anyone else with a mental or physical disorder. Act accordingly when they become an imminent threat to life and the world we all have to live in.
