In my quest to find the truth i have been searching deep within my soul and questioning my faith lately. I was born in a christian family specifically we attended a protestant church. I was dedicated to the altar when i was a born( those from western know it as kuombea mtoto) and i was baptised by water in november 2000.
I have for a long time had my reservations about the church but kept to myself which finally led to me not going to church all together for the last five years.
I am contemplating converting to islam hence asking the moslems ib the house like kina @mayekeke how does one start the journey ???

@imei2012 we are all born in a natural state of Fitrah, that is we are all born Muslims, itâs our parents that make one a Christian, Jew etc⌠Why do I say we are all born Muslim? The word Muslim means one that submits to the will of God, so in reality you are thinking of reverting back to Islam and not converting.
Islam is not a new religion because âsubmission to the will of Godâ(Islam), has always been the only acceptable religion in the sight of God. For this reason, Islam is the true ânatural religionâ and it is the same eternal message revealed through the ages to all of Godâs prophets and messengers. The main message of all the prophets has always been that there is only One True God and He alone is to be worshipped. These prophets start with Adam and include Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon, John the Baptist, and Jesus, peace be upon them all. Allah says in the Holy Qurâan:
"[SIZE=5]We did not send before you (O Muhammad) any messenger but We revealed to him: ânone has the right to be worshipped except I, therefore worship Me." Qurâan(21:25)[/SIZE]
Allah has created man and given him reason and He has sent down to him Revelation(The Qurâan) and sent to him Messengers and prophets(Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad etc peace be upon them all) to call him to the truth and warn him against falsehood. Then He has left him to make his own choice. The choice is ultimately yours. Allah says in the Qurâan:
[SIZE=5]âAnd say: âThe truth is from your Lord.â Then whosoever wills, let him believe; and whosoever wills, let him disbelieve.â Qurâan(18:29)[/SIZE]
The guys calling you lost may be the ones that are indeed lost, the ones calling you a potential terrorist are lost minds. My suggestion before you think of reverting back to Islam read and research on what Islam is all about, thereâs tons of info on the internet, then from there make your choice, may Allah guide you like he guided me and millions like me. If you ever become Muslim get ready to hear all kinds of abuses poured on you, our prophet and our religion but never and I repeat never abuse Jesus or any of the prophets found in the Bible or never abuse the Christian religion, coz once you do so, youâll immediately exit the fold of IslamâŚ

@mayekeke you have articulated like a true believer and a rational guy. Guys like @Mundu Mulosi and the entourage that liked his post canât wake up from their foolishness and western perception of Islam. I am no religious person but I have no qualms with Muslim,Christians Jews coz they all believe one being the difference the perception of the being.

Forget about religion. Iâm sure youâve heard its the opium of the masses. Donât look at God as someone who is high up in heaven, He is with you everywhere you are and all you have to do is to seek ask Him to make His presence known to you. He is seeking a personal relationship with you, why donât you do the same.
God is versatile. He is your provider, protector and most importantly your friend. Seek Him through Jesus Christ who died on the cross so as to enable you and I enjoy this personal relationship.
Pray to Him, kick all the dogma to the side. Seek only Him

Itâs the things that Iâve seen and experienced, most of which Iâm yet to understand.
Help me here. Before Mohammed, Abraham, Jesus and his followers, Noah, Elijah and his followers, Moses and Israelites worshipped God. they were born Jews and they worshipped as God taught them during the Exodus. Islam was not known then. How is it then that Islam is the only true religion? How is it then that Jesus and the Jews before them were not told to go to Mecca? How comes Jesus in the temple read from the book of Isaiah and not from the Koran which didnât exist at the time? Will the disciples of Jesus and the Jews with their Torah go to hell because they were not Muslims? Jesus was dedicated at the temple(not a mosque) and in Jewish traditions, does that mean he did not follow the âonly true religionâ? I have very many questions? Before the Mohammed was born some centuries after the death of Christ, people worshipped Yahweh, the one true God. Are all those years of worshipping, fasting revering God, thus done away with? Answer me. I like that you are objective by the way.

Many think that a religion starts with its main figure and often we see that many religions got their names after those important religious personas like Christianity was named after Jesus Christ, Buddhism after Buddha, etcâŚ
To understand the belief that Islam existed before Prophet Muhammad (SAW) one has to understand the meaning of the word Islam. In the Arabic language, âIslamâ means submission, in a religious context it simply means submission to the Will of Allah. By following His commandments and laws, one submits to His Will. And this is a choice that people are instructed to take if they wish to end up in Heaven.
So essentially anyone that worships God alone,obeys his laws and believes in all his messengers and prophets is considered a Muslim. Christians worship Jesus and many donât consider Muhammad(SAW) to be a prophet, Jews believe that Ezra is the son of God and they donât believe that Jesus was a prophet,

If I pray to God now, as a Christian, and not pray to âhis sonâ Jesus, Iâll be praying as a Muslim?
