TODAY'S WORD.

“But they laughed at him” - Mark 5:40’ …One of our most intense desires is to be taken seriously, especially when we are in the midst of sharing something very personal or stating an important truth. We feel slighted, demeaned, and disrespected if what we say is balked at. Humor, of course, has its place, but when we are being serious, we want to be taken seriously. Jesus was stating a fact when he said the girl was not dead, but sleeping. This brought scoffing and mockery from the crowd, for they thought they knew something Jesus did not, as if he was in denial, not them! Jesus certainly knows the toll of such indignant treatment. He identifies with us in so many ways.

 Good day.
