what was happening here?

Biafra, Kosovo, Warsaw, some names just evoke blood, bleeding and death. Very bad, should be renamed.

If it happens, Yorubas around Lagos will secede as well. Nigeria will give birth to three countries. The population is also crippling, by 2050, nigeria will have over 350 million people.

The problem is that the politically dominant group, Hausa-Fulani, contribute very little economically, yet they take everything, including oil revenues from the south, because of their numbers.

Hehehe remember when Gaddafi was alive? He called for the country to be split into Islam-Christian parts. I don’t think that would be a solution - South Sudan being an example. Inclusivity.
But this is Africa. Each would prefer to tyrannize their own.
Meanwhile, I thought the Igbo & Yoruba were the most there?

hapa kwetu kuko vipi?

we dont have a politically dominant group in terms of numbers. In Nigeria, Hausa-Fulani can win elections alone, they number about 100M, in a population of about 180M. Fulani was a different group but they have adopted Huasa language and because of intermarriages, they are basically one now sharing Islam as their common religion

Hausa alone are more than half the population. Combined with their now closely related Fulani, they make over 55% of the population. They also occupy over 70% of the country. Igbo numbers about 40 million spread in about 5 states, Hausa-Fulani occupy over 11 states in the north

Even the Igbos and Yorubas do not like each other that much. Hausa and Fulanis wanazaana kama panya and most of them do not immunize their kids due to a belief that western nations are deliberately trying to reduce the number of Muslims. That nation has too many problems.

And when I read this, and remember there is a secession debate around, it juat sends cold shivers down my spine. Seceding can never be a solution to any political/economic crisis.

Lakini hio ya Biafra, it is a different scenario. There was even a war that left many dead forty years ago.

That guy in pink is mad one.

Kama umesoma “half of a yellow sun” you will get a glimpse on history of the Biafran war. Then there’s the Igbo-Yoruba scuffle that I imagine is similar to the Luo-Kikuyu scenario here in Kenya. Those Dangote cousins you see in Nairobi are most probably Yoruba, a mixture of the stereotypical luo flamboyancy with a tincture of the shiny eye conman instinct, but to a higher degree.

For South Sudan it is a classic example of ungovernable people lying to themselves they are better on their own.

In Kenya, devolution is a pragmatic way of giving power to the people. How counties are run is a good example of how they would turn out if they were to secede. Currently there are numerous basket cases of counties that do not add value to the national cake and blame the central government for all their woes, let them leave.

Dangote is a Hausa/Fulani from Kano, Northern Nigeria.

Does a Kenyans kunguru know the difference? I should have put that “dangote” in quotes

A good number of these Naija guys you see around are mostly from the two tribes: Igbo and Yoruba. They are spread out all over the world.
