Total Physical Mem 3gb yet iko na 6gb....how?

looking at your screenshot, it appears that you ran systeminfo, this will give you both physical and virtual hence why it says max size 6GB (you are basically paging an extra 3GB)

to get the actual stats, run the following command and post the result

wmic memorychip list full

you should get something similar to this

DIMM 3, whats up with it, are you sure you are not running into problems because of mixing brands and sizes ? i have also noted that the totalwidth and datawidth values don’t match for any of the slots, this is an indicator of some error correction bits. also note that speed seems abit too low to me which would indicate that the system has adjusted to use lowest

i need some input from from the real geeks @Deorro , @Quadro k4000 , @TerribleWaste and @Chloe

I have that one ^^^^ which is more powerful, but I RDP to the previous one as it’s a desktop that I can VPN to anytime provided it’s ON. Siku hizi imeanza issues na kuhang hang so nikaongeza memory but sioni change. I rem you posted something about processor/memory relation to speed of a machine. But im also guessing that atleast it should improve ata ka ni kiasi tu

looks like two slots are now up, remove DIMM3 and replace, am sure you should recover the rest

hiyo ndio mem ya 512 yenye niliongeza

i am actually more worried of the error bits, i would remove two slots (dimm2 and dimm3) and run the memorychip query again

remove this and run the query, i also suspect its very slow hence why your speeds have been pro-rated at 667

@jimmy_m ^^^^

there still seems to be a problem, the totalwidth and datawidth dont tally at all, unfortunately this is where we get in the realm of trial and error, all i can tell for sure is that you have 56 error bits (seems to be evening themselves across the board), wonder if you ever get blue screens

nope, no blue screens of death ever. Any way to rectify the problem ama i just throw the PC away? Thou it will take me a considerable amount of time reinstalling all my apps, vmware etc.

…Hizo Ram chips ni za what frequency?
