Towards A Truly Wireless Future

Been following the trends in the wireless market and quite impressed with the developments. New flagship phones now come with wireless charging options (Galaxy S6-S7) there are rumors that iPhone 8 could have wireless charging, waiting to see what standard they will use.
You can stream music via Bluetooth now, home theatres come with their proprietary wireless adapters ie Sony Air and there are modules that can transfer 4K videos seamlessly and without any loss.
Qualcomm have their Halo wireless charging with power availability of 3.3,6.6,7 and 20KW range and can be transferred over a wide air gap with 90%efficiency, almost close to cables (resonant magnetic induction)
Think we are headed for interesting times as these technologies converge in the Consumer Electronic space.
For those with wireless enabled charging phones, what do you think of that capacity? Find it useful and what do you think of this trend @kamnjoro @Electronics4u Kuja utuambie expert opinion on this

I’d be more interested in the long term effects of electro magnetic waves to the human body. Whereas the possibilities of wireless charging are impressive, imagine driving an electric car that’s charged from the road it is on, energy efficiency apart, what is the radiation exposure to humans?

It’s an ongoing debate there are those who say it’s harmful, others say it’s been in the environment since earth’s inception and doesn’t cause any effect

Talking about the convergence of all worked wireless protocols in CE devices, from Moore’s law perspective, bound to happen. Does your LG have wireless charging?

Playing music via bluetooth has been around for ages. Let me get a hold of some samsung pocket plus that has that feature and take a screen shot.

And can now stream 4K videos without any loss, that’s just freaking amazing

nope, the last nexus to have one was the Nexus 5 released in 2013 . It has charges in less than an hour so am good with that

Waiting for some ninjas to make true the Silicon Valley compression algorithm to fit 4K and other huge files to your kawaida USB drive @jimmy_m You up to the challenge?

What’s the power rating on your charger? And your battery capacity

input: 100-240V 50/60hz 0.5A
outout: 5.0V 3.0A

batt ya simu ni 2800mah

This a bit silly, no? Obviously the intensity is not the same. You can say the same about radioactivity in the atmosphere… the sun being a giant nucler reactor and all.

Personally, am more interested in IOT. Bluetooth is moving ahead fast - but adoption not so much. Version 5 was released last year and yet it’s still a myth to most. All these items with connectivity will, of course, need an AI… and that’s what gets most my attention. AI controlled homes cannot get here any faster for me.

Wireless is the future. In fact, I am working on a totally wireless PA system. Totally wireless, as in hakuna kitu imeunganishwa na waya kwa nyingine, including power…

Want to partner with me @Gio?

Your amp is a bit higher than most, @TerribleWaste It’s an ongoing debate Bluetooth has been there for a while now

Want to have something like Alexa or Google Home?

Sure, also working on something wireless on a more localized scale. Hiyo yako ya power source is interesting, using resonant magnetic for the gap ama?

You draw power from the socket via cable, right? How then do you overcome the air gap between speakers?

a Google phone so sina shida nayo mimi, they just cant risk

shida yangu na IOT ni security. lots of dumb people around
