Not unless u plan to do Nairobi - Alexandria route

Enda pale Latema road and see the number of 29 seaters that have ‘For Sale’ at the back ndo ujue what’s is in store for you

vile wamesema

were they on the road before as matatu? i doubt never seen one?

guys here try and explain something… not beeing vague as usual

They were used before but were very rare. The fuel consumption used to be the problem back in the day.
I don’t know how well the engine would hold in today’s kind operations.
Somethings are good to try and see for yourself.

Matatu is no longer good investment …zimekuwa mob profit margins have reduced greatly… Ongeza jam za upuuzi…ongeza mbesha ya traffic police and kanjo.ongeza driver ma conductor wezi…ningekuadvise if you can get 4M usiingize matatu especially since you are newcomer to the business

It would be better if you put it for airport transfers. But you will have to do some proper leg-work and speak with hotels across the city. Just a suggestion since the Toyota Coasters are quite comfy

What I would have said.

I would have liked to get your opinion of my earlier thread about tours n safaris biz. On how to increase clients on the newly est. Biz

@AFI I can’t lie to you, I have no idea.
But I think you can start trolling the expatriate forums and Quora seeking guys that are trying to move around etc . I heard that the big tour companies are at times overwhelmed by demand during peak season. They sometimes outsource the transport needs since they run out of tour vans. You can use that as a stepping stone and get contacts of the tourists. They can recommend you or the driver to friends and family coming over.

@hunningale let me hijack your thread to also seek some insight. I have come into the unintentional possession of a toyota 2001 model premio some time last week. What people call nyoka. Its a complicated story how it came to be since I never even foresaw that I would be having it. Life’s surprises or cruel jokes. However, gari ina mashida kama zote. The battery terminals are cracked/broken, the bushes need replacement; alternator is long dead; spark plugs need replacement also the tires need balancing/ re-alignment. Its headlights either need cleaning or replacement since switching it on in the dark is like using a candle to see (They are not xenon). Its fuel gauge is faulty does not detect any fuel ukiweka even the radiator fan does not work. It has issues with idling does not idle properly. How much can it cost me to fix it to be a proper running and reliable car. I want to fix it up then either sell it, I see whether I can churn a small profit since I got it dirt cheap. It can also be used as an old school Taxi just to keep it busy but on this I am still wary since I have heard horror stories.

Kama ni kuanza unaanza biz ya mat, go for a vehicle model that’s common and settle for, preferably, shuttles. If you’re going for out-of-Nbi routes that is.
