Transami gone.

Companies are closing down at an alarming rate.A company laying off 1,200 workers in January on top of over 350 retrenched a year earlier is no easy matter.
But does this Gatheca government care, wapi ile ghasia ya Jubilee development?
And to make it worse they are relocating to Tanzania.

Bolloré Kenya Managing Director Jean-Pascal Naud and Jason Reynard, Bolloré Transport and Logistics CEO East Africa Region could not bear the burden of facilitating Kenyas’ SDV Transami(bollore) due to bad economy.

The company through a memo indicated that from February 2020 the company will close its Kenyan doors. Closing the veteran logistic company is a big blow in the freight and logistics frugality.

More than 1200 workers are facing the shocker after the Memo. Already the company has set aside a budget for all employees dues which will be paid before the end of January 2020.

The firm, which has lately lost out on several lucrative deals, says industry policy changes including implementation of the standard gauge railway (SGR) have affected cargo handling processes leading to reduced business.

Sources at the company said that the firm has lost more than 500 trucks after owners withdrew them due to non-payment. This has made it difficult for the firm to deliver on its contracts.

The company, however, operates several go-downs in Mombasa. Some of its properties have been handed over to another french based firm CMA CGM.

The management turned to cost-cutting measures by retrenching its employees last year November 2018 where 357 employees were retrenched.

"Some of the mobile properties and assets were transported to Tanzania. Our new headquarters for East Africa will Tanzania, " said Jason Reynard.

The old shipping, Warehouse, and logistics firm lost UPS contract in 2015. Later parted ways with Delmas International, Galawa Marine Services and CMA CGM.

Other struggling companies that have sold some of its trucks include; Hakika transporters, Volcanic holdings and transporters, and pearl logistics. These companies have embarked on the real estate business.

I thank God kenyans are harvesting a hundred fold, the consequences of their foolishness.

moving to TZ?’ that’s a big blow, forcing sgr down peoples throat will leave many crying.

ile kitu sielewi…Bollore was the first company to give sgr business immediately after it was launched

The only problem is that both the wise minority and the foolish majority suffer the consequences together… Mtego wa panya huwanasa waliomo na wasiokuemo. F*ck democracy.

How sad to begin a year with such news

Si mlipiga kula Mara mbili…

let’s not blame the Economy for Trasami woes.

‘The firm, which has lately lost out on several lucrative deals, says industry policy changes including implementation of the standard gauge railway (SGR) have affected cargo handling processes leading to reduced business.’

I’d say it’s more of tight competition than anything else, we all know you get lucrative(meaning over priced, several times than the market value) business deals from G.o.K, swali kuu ni, Who edged Trasami out of Government contract ?

hii ni noma, january bila works ni disaster.

kuna verse pale Ecclesiastes inasema the same,

And many more coming. Na mna taka Ruto. Bure kabisa

Blaming the govt.at this point is too farfetched katika pilka pilka zangu nimeona major companies in financial countries folding up or retrenching en masse, industries saa hii ndio ziko kwa bed na ile iv line, hizo zingine ni icu waiting to be unplugged. You think this year has been bad, next year will be chaos

More to come.

Uhuruto Shafting bila lube

The economy of Pipeline, Tassia, Fedha, Nyayo and areas as far as Umoja will feel the hit.
Malaya wengi wa paipu itabidi warudi ukambani.

Woooiii my pal Andrew. Sasa ataringia nani ati anafanya Bolloré?

Waseme ukweli.
They lost the tenders not only to SGR but a number of local much more efficient firms like DHL.

They can’t compete in the local market.

I don’t think so, bollore has been in Kenya for years, so has been dhl ,fedex and others ,so about efficiency is not it.
they had a terminal in mombasa, a dry port and a container station which are being rendered useless by forcing people to use sgr and the dry port in naivasha, they’re more efficient than dhl and fedex.

He he he he he he he, ain’t you the same fool here yearning for a Ruto presidency

…efficiency/ customer care is zero and foreign term to them. Walifuruga market by charging bottom rock but forgot pricing is only one of the many factors and the scandals huko majuu
