Ni vile i was broke. I would have bet on the japanese English guy. Compared to our guy, he has an impressive colllection of books he has written. Btw looking at Ngugu wa Thiogo's work you might that the guy is dead. He's last novel was in 2004 except of a memoir in 2012. That guy went too much into teaching. Compared to the guy with an active writing starting from 1982 -2015 with more variety. The guy has 4 screen plays and even song lyrics.
Alafu Ngugu's insistence on writing in Gikuyu man...man im tired of typing. Thats my two cents.

How many Africans really dedicate their time to reading so that we can have reputable African writers? Ngugi can't even earn a leaving in Kenya out of his writing even if he were to publish say 3 books in a year. Africans should nurture and support their literature and art sio kulaumu mzungu, ni upuzi wa mwafrika.

In as much as i agree with you..i believe you shouldn't fault a writer for what he chooses to write about, ting is an art,you don't tell an artist what to do unless you're paying them.kama gikuyu is his thing then t him do it.maisha ni yake .pengine ata hana haja na hio nobel prize sisi tuko hapa tunawika bure.

It is not quantity that qualifies otherwise David Mailu would be a contender
