Tuna Pasta Bake

Hello World,

I couldn’t access this site at around 9pm, and I panicked a little because I thought it had been hacked lol.

Anyway, my dinner tonight was Tuna Pasta Bake.

Recipe and ingredients:

 1. Add olive oil to the pot, one full diced white onion, 4 cloves of garlic, dried red chilli flakes and leek.

 2. Cook until soft and then add canned whole tomatoes (2 tins) or 5 fresh big tomatoes.

 3. Immediately after, add basil and oregano. (I couldn’t find fresh basil, so I opted to use dry basil).

 4. Add a pinch of salt to taste and the peas. Stir and let it cook for 20mins. (Make sure there’s enough water to cook the sauce and peas).

 5. While the sauce is cooking, cook fettuccini (or your choice of Pasta) on the side for about 8 minutes.

 6. When the sauce is ready, add diced carrots to it and then stir.

 7. Finally, add two cans of Tuna to the mixture, stir well and then pour in the pasta and mix well.

 8. Pour the mixture into an oven bake dish and then grate cheese on top and drizzle some olive oil. (Mozzarella or Parmesan can do, or a mixture of both cheeses.)

 9. Proceed to bake the tuna and pasta in a preheated oven (200 degrees Celsius) for about 20 minutes.

 10. Allow it to cool for 5 minutes and serve with a choice of your drink. Mine was red wine.

NB: Apart from the chilli, which is optional, no spices are needed, except for the natural herbs, which is either basil or both basil and oregano.

Nice one. Will try it one these days as my resident teen nephew eats pasta almost everyday. Got some canned tuna that has found it’s use.

It’s absolutely delicious, especially for kids. You can also tweak the recipe if you wish, e.g. use a different type of meat or live out the veges.

I will try the tuna bake and then progress to mince beef meat. He boils his own pasta to go with our meat dish of the day. Everyday.
Hapo kwa wine thought white is better for some dishes like pasta, spags etc. Savignon (sp) is my thing though. But I seem to have lost interest in the sauce no matter how hard I psyche up. Will be back like Arnold:D:D

@Cleopatra VII whatever happened to our hiking thing? I want to take you out for a biking adventure in some forest before end month. I will provide the bikes and transportation. Just the 2 of us as I don’t like crowds which is kind of a give away looking at my handle name. So what you say?

Hahaha, I agree, white would have been perfect with the fish dish. I only have bottles of red wine though, so…

Wish you the best in your come back, whenever you are good and ready.

Looks delicious …

Thank you for your offer, however, I two consecutive hikes on my schedule confirmed. The first one is this Saturday.

This sounds super creepy bro. Inviting a person you have never met to a forest? Just the two of you???

Don’t mind him. I think he’s joking.

Nope totally serious. Anyways it’s cool if you occupied this month, maybe hit me up when you filling up your next hikes later?

Also fair play if you being cautious although am sure we can work something out you feel at ease.

You snoopy thing :D…I will eat a big meal tomorrow evening at Village Market. I eat more when around people.

Reason why I stopped running marathons. I was attempting 21kms in Mwea on an empty stomach. I had not been feeding adequately, so at 18kms, I fainted. Shortly after, I was in an ambulance receiving first aid. I had completely lost my marbles and was blubbering my secrets out. Anyway, after a while, I got better, but learnt a big lesson. “Never attempt any of the intensive workouts on an empty stomach”.

Oi, lol. You can have my leftover Pasta.
