Swali ni, kwani, they were just manufacturing paper bags ? PVC pipes and Polyvinyl acetate used in construction have not been banned, and so many other plastic based products. There’s so much these guys can do with their paraphernalia. Instead of moving manufacturing to Uganda, they can just haul the cargo to the depths of Kampala, Jinja and Tororo everyday. More work for @Meria Mata and crew. Bora the mnufacturers negotiate some deal with the Kenyan Government which am sure would go an extra mile to keep jobs here.
hehe uganda is 10 years behind kenya
blackmail. waende waka dry-ie huko…
With plastic manufacturing a plant would need to be well placed in receiving the raw materials for their products… Mmm! UG is not that well placed may be TZ.
Surprisingly people are adapting very well, supermarkets have already designed some bags@ 15,20,30,50
one i bought at 30 fits very well in the pocket like a hankerchief. have now used it about four times na naona nitaitumia tumia…
Jana I bought a green one ile ya 50 bob. Iko mtu ameunda lemonade from this “crisis”
hii umama sponsor, naona ukipata bwana:D
Kuna small manufactures who had only specialized in paper bags (polyethylene), hao ndo wanaumia na kulalamika.
For them to change to their production lines from paper bags to pipes etc, some modifications have to be done, some machines will become obsolete, they will also have to buy new machines. but bado wanaweza manufacture the plastic sheets used in construction industry etc. They can also buy new machines (labelling machines etc.) and get orders to produce the plastic bags used in primary packaging.
However, most of the manufactures ni the stupid indians we have in industrial area, hio move to Uganda hawataki, their grandfathers walionyesha the generation that was there during Idi Amins time ujinga wakafukuzwa en masse from Uganda. They prefer remaining in Nairobi because huku there are people who can stomach their shit.
ni uyinga utaacha elder. hujui ile uchungu niko nayo juu niko na gunia ya paperbags kwa nyumba sijui nitapeleka wapi. previously used to recycle them by taking to wife anawekea customer nguo…sasa hizi nazo nianze ku-accumulate?:D:D
Sawa…tumekubali wewe ni mbirrionaire ndio unabuy za 50 tukibuy za 10 bob
hehe sikujua kuna za 10 bob. Ni huyo madhe wa kuuza ndio aliniambia kama unakata hizi bags ongeza 50 nikaona haidhuru its a one-time purchase and I will re-use it ad-infinitum
of course some are taking advantage to make a killing before they become widespread.
I bought one yester night and when I was leaving the house this morning, I had to shove it in my pocket. "In greek, the law makes coffee to be uprooted " direct translens
niliona kila supermarket iko na collection point ya bags zake, just sort them by that then uanze kuzipeleka kwa drop off zones.
let them go…when ug is full of paperbags like rongai and kajiado they will know why we have banned that nonsense
Eti sasa wanataka kubembelezwa :D:D
waende kama irene wa tata! NKT!
Kama ni mimi, i would just tuliza kidogo for the excitement to cool the nianze kuziunda for the black market. I’ve noted that other than supermarkets and established shops, those plastic bags, especially the one called ‘fridge’ are still being used in the informal sector. They will be needing fresh supplies very soon. Plus it’s almost impossible to police the informal sector
Hizi ni poa vile unaweza ifanya nguo wakati wa crisis.
