Just buy one and then come here and give your experience.

Taxes in Uganda are low, they can import cars older than 8 years and Ugandans hawana ukora kama ya wakenya. You only pay a small tax to import the car temporarily (3 months) which you can renew. Hope that helps.

Then you have to pay some cash, I don’t know like twenty Kay to use the vehicle with Ugandan number plates in 254

For cars with 2000cc or more, the foreign permit is 100USD every three months and the stay cannot exceed a year.that cost translates to slightly over 100 kenyan shillings per day.a decent car can be obtained at 300k kenyan shillings.making it a cost of 1000 per day.third party insurance is negligible hence one can have mobility at a cost of 1200 kenyan shillings per day and still have salvage value at the end.

Boss, you have no idea. Vehicles stolen in Kenya and DRC huchinjwa huko in the open and sold as parts. Don’t even get me started on those engines guys go to buy there.

Let me leave this here.

Ug imports are reasonably priced coz the URA uses the buying price to compute taxes. KRA doesn’t, instead relying on that depreciation template, CRSP, designed kutukamua mercilessly.

Hamna bahati Doc.
Wameintroduce SGS inspection maze @3,200k
Took mine and it passed but what of the other old jalopies na vile zimejaa huku.

Annual inspection for all? Ama ‘new’ imports only?
