In his selfless efforts to improve Tanganyika, Magufuli may come out as a heroic knight trying to make his nation a thriving land. However, he doesnt realise he is doing more harm than good. Let’s summarize megafools in the month of March.
1.In a road side declaration he stopped all gold exports in the country. By the time he got to state House all metal mineral ore exports where stopped. Mind you consignment already sold and taxes paid were on the port/roads. Some investors are losing $1 million a day in losses and mining industry constitute 30% of Tz revenues.
2.He ordered the arrest of a popular preacher who has been openly critical of him. When his minister mentioned he will investigate the raid, he was setup and fired in public at another road rally. Presidential guards removed the minister flag on the car openly and he was done.
- He started visiting government projects construction sites built by foreign firms and if he saw anything he did like, he immediately asked their officials passports attached. Even according to him the Car airport expansion is overpriced. Problem is he doesn’t give chance for anyone to explain or speak.
4.He ordered the arrest of a popular musician for singing a song deemed critical of him. He is in prison redoing the song.
Now where are the cynical opposition supporters who were singing his name as if he was the best thing since sliced loaf. Full blown dictator.
Almost all investors are reconsidering their operations, resizing their operations or looking elsewhere. There biggest fear is not the laws but the fact that megafools can change anything and everything as he wishes. That uncertain feeling will hurt Tz.
