Underground Power lines

Why can’t we bury our power lines especially in residential areas and towns. I find overhead power lines Dangerous and ugly looking especially in places like pipeline and other badly planned Eastland’s settlement areas.I think we should start adopting underground methods in our future towns and residential areas.
Look at the difference.

That would be a death trap, due to illegal connections, be it water or the same electricity lines

Underground will be complex. Especially if there’s maintenance to be done and alot other reasons.

Its is so hard to tap on underground electric lines hizo vitu huwa layers of concrete and insolation.

Ata aerials zinachafua mecho.

Too expensive…a matter of cost vs convenience.

Hii

Hii ni photoshop btw

I was trying to portray venye kutaka na underground system. Many European countries use underground power line system.

Meanwhile in punjabi…their “2 shīts” cupboard is empty

Hii ni illegal connection

There are places in Kenya where power lines pass underground like Nairobi CBD, some newer estates in Karen and Vipingo in Coast. The problem you have with such a setup is that you have to pre-plan for underground cabling BEFORE you start on the buildings. Doing the work afterwards is next to impossible.

And thats why they dont give two shīts:D

Nairobi has between 10-20 power substations. A Chinese firm has networked them in a matrix grip using underground power cables. That’s why blackouts don’t cover a wide area as before and have drastically reduced. The underground power cables come well insulated. They are also huge. They also completed the CBD underground grid. Next was to be upper hill, Westland and Kilimani. I don’t know if we got the funding for that.

Important to note that this is the kind of project we nyeuthis can not just decide and do on our own eve if the funding was there. We don’t have the capability/capacity for such.

True man

Mbona tusichukue 1,000 of our yoing brains tuwapeleke japan na Germany to learn the technology.

Kama maji tu ilitushinda, stima si itatumaliza

Wakitoka kenya hawadai kurudi. Brain drain

It’s actually significantly more expensive compared to overhead, both installation and maintenance

We have underground cables in the place I stay
