US tech giants are losing billions, quietly lobby to ease Huawei ban

Highly concerned over an imminent loss of billions of dollars in trade with Huawei, Silicon Valley giants have been quietly lobbying the Trump administration to ease its ban on sales of components to the Chinese tech firm.
Huawei spent about $11 billion last year buying components from dozens of US companies, including chips from Qualcomm, as well as software from Microsoft and Google. American firms are set to lose that business once their 90-day temporary licenses, granted following Washington’s blacklisting of Huawei and 70 of its subsidiaries, expire on August 20.

You support the China that just lied to its people that the Hong Kong protests were actually Hong Kong parents protesting against US interference in Hong Kong instead of the fact that it was actually Beijing that was trying to mess with the Guarantees Hong Kong has under the Basic Law. The same China has been busy removing all my posts if they mention protest even when I am asking about whether goods are moving from Shenzhen to Hong Kong due to the protests the post was flagged under 5 minutes. Apparently even people in Shenzhen are not aware that protests involving millions are happening next door. That is the kind of superpower you support???

Child's play compared to the lies the US contort to invade countries and overthrow governments. Right now ain't the busy cooking up a reason to invade Iran?

Does moving to Vietnam reinstate the Huawei contract?
Foxconn is Taiwanese.Their aim is to produce other company components which may fall victim to China-US trade wars like the manufacture of Apple components which is a far bigger market for Foxconn.
And Foxconn can keep making Huawei phones in China. For the Chinese market only however and not the international market.

Let us see.
Tibet.
The Dzunghar Khanate just before the Uyghurs accepted Islam
The Mongol Khanates that existed in Northern China prior to the Ming Dynasty.
Like every kingdom in what is today Yunan Province.
Like several Korean dynasties
Vietnam, several times.
And they tried Japan, several times.
In fact, given China's long history, they have a body count that far exceeds that of the United States by faaaaar!!

Lol.
Even though you are counting Chinese territories, those are not even half of what USA destroyed or helped destroy last year alone.

So as I asked, how does that help the USA companies that have lost their Huawei contracts.
Huawei buys $11 billion in parts from US companies every year. Foxconn going to Vietnam helps them how?

Nice one.

The thing is China, USA, Russia all play by the same rules. For someone to start counting score ati how many has so-and-so destroyed is being very subjective.

The thing is, throughout history, greater powers have always subjugated lesser powers. Whether you are talking of the British empire, the mongolian empire, the japanese empire or the Zulu empire.... the list goes on and on. As long as their interests are threatened or they see a threat (real or imagined) to their long term interests, they will act.

Juzi we saw this with Russia subjugating Ukraine and its invasion of Georgia.

Out of the three countries, USA, China and Russia, its only the USA that keeps getting requests for them to send troops to other countries. Juzi Poland was asking the USA to station more troops there. When the saudis wanted the USA to reduce troops on its territories, Qatar happily built a base for them on its territory and invited US troops there. The South Koreans happily station US troops on its territory and pay for it. Clearly, the US is the lesser of the 3 evils.

Qatar is also expanding the US bases on its territory

This is what I have been saying hapa kwa ktalk. Its impossible for the US to win a trade war with a near-peer economic power when the US is a democracy and China a dictatorship. A democracy has a much less tolerance of economic pressures than a dictatorship and you will see alot more lobbying in other sectors that will start to threaten Trumps chances at reelection. Xi doesnt need to worry about such pressures and is free to go the distance if he chooses.

And not only is the US having a trade war with China. The want to take on the EU as well. This is one war the US is clearly going to lose.
