Wangwana na wengineo… my laptop, a several years old Samsung running windows 7, keeps spamming the letter 'r, so I cant really type anything else. Sometimes it stops spamming r, but then you cannot type r. The keyboard is integrated with the outer cover so replacing it is not worth it… I have tried the following

Hardware issue, clear the memory via BIOS settings maybe

That’s a stuck key, somehow it retains its pressed status once you lift your finger off the key. @upepo has the right solution for you. Lift off the keyboard and give it a thorough cleaning. You could also consider swapping the ‘r’ key with a less used key.

There’s no laptop keyboard that’s “integrated” with the outer cover. Any keyboard is replaceable. Replace the keyboard and you’re good to go.

Sounds like a stuck key. You could get the troublesome key removed and cleaned or better yet get a replacement keyboard, they dont cost too much.

I had the same issue sometime back and it was the same latter r. Why don’t you backup your files and format the machine maybe it will solve the issue. I don’t rem what I did but sikununua keyboard ingine
