VW GOLF TSI 2010

i have a chap who is selling this vehicle, at a good price (850k) and has not been locally used. He was importing for a client last year but the client did not hold his part for the deal (port duties, KRA duties etc) hence used his money to register it and still in coast.

for those who have/drive the same or a similar vehicle how are the running costs?

Watu wa VW na gearbox.

Good car for daily use…make sure timing kit is changed on time,na ikianza shda za DSG uza tu please…

are all VW double clutch?

DIRECT SHIFT GEARBOX

thanks but more preciously the daily maintenance cost and service costs. I have asked around and guys are of the opinion one should take for the hills.

hii gari haikunywi mafuta sana…1.4 tsi engine…parts ukibadilisha zinadumu…its expensive if your dealing with a major breakdown issue

Hii mentality ya Kenyans ya offloading problems to another unsuspecting person sio mzuri.

IMO, 850k for a 8 year old (tiny engine) golf is too much.

Kweli.

This is what I was thinking when I saw the price but aside from that it’s is a very good car. Fuel economy is good & if really taken cared of can serve you without headaches eg. timely service ,timely part replacement make sure it’s genuine at reputable garages you’ll be good. have a close friend who got one from leakey’s auction at a steal never heard complaints. Just don’t expect it to take the ‘abuse’ of a Toyota and it survives.

go to KRA and get to know how much they charge the same car for duty you will cry. Duty for this small cars is high kwanza ya vits na Fit ni 350K. Internationally they are cheap but ikifika pale port KRA doubles the price.

Quite a compact car, I don’t know whether the resale value depreciates like other European cars

The blind leading the blind on this thread. For 850k that car is a bargain. What’s the mileage?

68K and some change, thats why i know its a bargain. but as a car owner i know the price is a non issue the maintenance is where the rubber meets the road.

On running costs, I doubt you’ll be spending on anything other than fuel and service. The VW options that had gearbox issues was the 1.6 and 2.0 FSi MKV. The gremlins on this model is the pistons, and this largely depends on how you fuel and drive. If you put substandard fuel and have a heavy foot, then you’ll have to replace pistons at some point.

Otherwise, I don’t think there’s any vehicle that would come close to this level of driving experience at that budget.

Thanks bro.
