Wanjigi to Sue Boinnet, Tobiko

Businessman Jimi Wanjigi is to sue Inspector General of Police and the Director of Public Prosecutions for the destruction of his property. Lawyer James Orengo yesterday said he had also received instructions from his client to file a case against IG Joseph Boinnet and DPP Kariako Tobiko for contempt of court.
“We have fresh instructions with my colleague Otiende Amollo to proceed with speed to file proceedings against the IG and the DPP for contempt of court,” he said at the residence of the tycoon’s home in Nairobi’s Muthaiga. “A lot of damage has been done in this building. That policemen can come like a rogue militia armed with axes, machetes and other crude weapons and begin to destroy someone’s property without a court order only happens in a rogue state and in a banana republic”.
On Tuesday, police used hammers and axes to break into the home, where they recovered guns in the ceiling. The tycoon said only licensed guns were in his house.

Let me guess, the judge shall also be NASWA's favourite HC judge, the one who never fails to rule against anticipatory bail or NASA's positions and to whom all such cases go to in the HC to frustrate investigations by the DPP or arrests by the police. In contrast other judges do rule against anticipatory bail or the blocking of investigations strictly on the merits and not sentiment.
