Wataalum wa magari (machanica)

I have a problem with a turbocharged diesel engine. Engine stops when gear is engaged. Now when turbo is disengaged from throttle and gear engaged, it’s moving. Return turbo and engage gear, it does not complete the ignition process. Disengage turbo, start car and return turbo then engage gear. It stalls.

Shida gani jamani? The turbo seals are leaking some oil but I don’t believe this is the cause of this phenomenon.

Fafanua hapa…car make…yom…any dash lights on?

I must comend your systematic diagnosis. The problem is the turbo. Since I have never driven a turbo engine, I will ask a naive question inocently. can you do away with turbo altogether? I imagine its a ten years plus car (ex Japan at 8 years) and probably in kenya at least two years, and fixing turbo might cost an arm and a leg.

Have you run an OBDII diagnostics

Nipigie nikutatulie paap…give the model 0702039353…pay after satisfaction …yours trully

Makanika murefi huyu au?

Hapo pa satisfaction naogopa.

Hahaha hio inaeleweka…hio inatishia sana gari ndio inapewa service!

Have you managed though?

Kizungu kizungumkuti kaka

Yes. There was a oil leak on the turbo seals and was flowing back to the throttle causing it to choke.
Cost me 12k to repair that turbo. YOM of the car 2003.

Chief. Turbo repair ni kuweka elastoplast ndogo kwa big open wound. All turbos have components that spin upto 200,000 rpms and must be replaced with brand new, genuine manufacturer ones otherwise utakuwa ya number ya mechanics on speed dial. The number of guys I have seen going through headaches and paying severally for repairing turbos which finally ends up costing more than a new one I can’t count. Ni kama ile ujinga ya ku replace alternator bearing ikichapa instead of buying a new or second hand genuine alternator. Utakuja kujua haujui.

The next owner ndiyo atajua hajui. Am selling it off.

Transfer the problem to the next user :D:D
