SpaceX could test the first variation of a rocket ship that will be built to send people to Mars as early as today, Business Insider reports. The company sent notices to residents of Boca Chica Beach, Texas, warning of road closures around the launch site of its “Starship” rocket. The prototype, nicknamed “Test Hopper,” won’t fly to space but will gather information for the creation of Starship. Founder Elon Musk hopes to move the first Starship crew around the moon by 2023 and Mars by 2024.
