What happened to James Oregon??

Some of you guys in your 30s can remember mid 1990s when Oregon used to be a thorn in the flesh of KANU government. He even led a never-heard-of vote of no confidence on president Moi in parliament which failed. He was fighting to liberate Kenya from KANU.
That guy is very different from the Orengo that lost in the presidential election of 2002 till today.
Miguna Miguna wrote how Orengo was buying shirts worth £400 while on official duty in London using government provided credit card that was meant to pay for meals only. This was during the nusu mkate government.
This same Orengo went to Russia to watch the FIFA world cup on taxpayer money.
Maybe he got so angry for garnering only 0.4% of the votes when he ran for president that he swore he will get back at taxpayers every chance he gets. The 5 years from 2002 to 2007 when he was in political oblivion must have been like a jail term to a guy who always tried to be good only to be rejected by society.
Or maybe a critic can argue that the rejection of 2002 presidential elections exposed his true character and that the fight for removing KANU was just a ploy to get to the top so that he could do what he wanted with taxpayers money.
Matusi na corrections are welcome.

huyu oregon ni nani?

He is just being himself now, then and in the future. Its only those who are stupid enough to believe on that romantic notion or image of him fighting for people’s liberation that bought that act. He did it for himself first and everyone last. As soon as he made it the rest was not necessary. The same way a few people believe RAT ni safi kama pamba. What if I tell you that during the second liberation movement, Mark Too would sneak Muite and Orengo to State House in his boot to meet Nyayo.

I was going to correct the auto correct mistake but then I decided to not do it because some people will skip the whole thread if they read the correct spelling and decide it is politics. Curiosity will help drive some traffic to the thread

The only way Orengo could have survived for that long is because he was probably working for mtukufu rais.

makes you look sloppy instead

Muite was one of the puzzling ones. He was rejected by Kiambu voters in the 1990s and he was one of the people spearheading removal of KANU. I never understood that one

he was called "Muite wa magatheti"during his first term so your guess is as good as mine why he couldn’t get a second term…

Sema tu its because he associated with a luo

Watu wakule nyama

is he married to one? I won’t say what you have said because in 1997 he unsuccessfully defended his seat on SAFINA and not the ford-k he had won with in 92. Meanwhile the jaruo was with National Development Party, hence Tinga. the tinga party was then swallowed by kanu in an act of betrayal of the democratic forces who expected it to boost the very vibrant opposition in parliament.

mtu huchoka hata KLIST kuna majamaa walikuwa rebels sanaa na hapa kwa deorro wamekunja mukia after kuwekwa kwa payroll na sijataja mtu

Muite lost to that guy of mediplus came to the picture. After sinking the insurer and eating peoples money, he went on to do what he was destined to do in politics and fleeced the Kiambu masses yet again. They thought they were punishing Muite.

Everyone in Kenya is for hire. Just name the price. A result of lack of principles at least socio-political.
But it’s true. Orengo was a huge disappointment. Especially in the coalition government. Lots of scandals in his Lands Ministry. He seemed clueless there. Uncomfortable and out of his zone.

Qamquot niaje

Muite won elections in 1992,1997 and 2002 only to be felled by Lewis Nguyai in 2007. He always won on not so popular (Kiambu Wise) parties. FORD-K in 1992 when FORD-A dominated Kiambu. SAFINA when DP and SDP dominated Kiambu in 1997. SAFINA when KANU and UK ruled the roost in Kiambu in 2002.

you are right and i stand corrected.

On Orengo, we have to factor in Ojingaism. What about the likes of Gov. Kiraitu ? Anyways these politicians are in it for themselves, wonder how Miguna Miguna would have behaved if he was elected Governor of Nairobi

Hehe this guy enyewe is Muite wa magatheti coz he promised his constituents piped water and title deeds twice during campaigns and did ferk all. Thank God Kabete was split into two
