What Has Life Taught You..?

I think the most important life lessons are not taught in classrooms but in real life, what you go through in your daily life regardless of age we all have learnt somethings through the experiences of others or of our own at my age (mid 30’s) Here are some of the important lesson I have learnt

  1. Value your parents! Take time to see them often instead of taking that trip with the boys to booze out of town make an impromptu visit, just to see them, You don’t know how much long they will be around… until you loose a parent you will never know.

  2. Save money especially when / if employed have at least 6 months rent saved up! All it takes is one contract cancelled or not renewed and your employer might not need you any more, Have a home office eg computer, printer, and always be working / have a financial plan B, don’t take things for granted.

  3. Know that A BIG CHUNK OF YOUR FREINDS ARE FAKE! It took me a while to realise this, the majority of your friends are fake, they don’t wish you that well they only associate with you because you are the same ‘level’ move up or down in life you will know this for real.

  4. Don’t do things to please society, ( eg get married, have kids) all society wants us to do is conform ( which is not a bad thing) but once we conform that’s it, we are on our OWN!

Bonus: For the younger Men here, don’t choose a woman based on her looks alone, after a while you will get over her looks, then what will keep you going? A Wise man once Said ‘’[I] show me the most beautiful woman in the world and I will show you a guy whose tired of banging her!!

[li]I’ve learnt patience. That period from college till one gets stable financial/career wise is not easy for men, so I urge the young men in that stage to keep pushing, things will get better.[/li][li] I’ve come to appreciate the impact friends have. It’s true what you’ve said that a big chunk are fake, (especially the ones u only meet with for drinks and partying) but there r others with vision (they’re the ones who weren’t cool when young) who together u can achieve alot. [/li][li]I’ve also learnt the value of mentorship which doesn’t always have to be from people talking to you but can also come from reading books. Mentorship and guidance saves u alot of time, energy and frustration[/li][/ul]
…and the list goes on

Mine:
1.Time seems to fly on steroids once you hit 30. Years seem like months and weeks like days. Can’t believe I was doing Christmas shopping a few Saturdays ago yet we’re now approaching mid-March!
2.Beauty is overrated. Most of these supermodel types are only worth it before you bust a nut. I used to wonder how come every celebrity married/dating a bombshell would be caught cheating with a not so good looking mpango. Kumbe.
3.Money can’t buy happiness but its a damn good down-payment.
4. The universe has to balance books. Whatever you do, good or bad, you will get it in return, in equal measure. Iba, Ibiwa. Manga, Mangiwa. Uana, Uliwa. Pata, Patwa.

My biggest weakness is the only hindrance to the plans I have made for my progress.

Somewhere along the line I learnt No. 3 the hard way.

  1. Always stand by your word/principles. People will respect you
  2. Always be humble
  3. Treat everyone with respect, until they mess with you
  4. There is more to life than money
  5. Family is next to God. If you cannot take care of a wife and your own flesh and blood, then dont start one, and always avoid crossing paths with family
  6. Always earn your daily bread fairly through your sweat. There is no escalator to success. Handouts are for idiots
  7. Take care of your body. Eat healthy and exercise.

[li]Demonstrate…never explicate.[/li][li]There’s a difference between being rich & wealthy…understand the difference, achieve a balance between both.[/li][li]Life is a bitch…and then you die…[/li][li]Heaven is what you make it…hell is what you go through[/li][li]Respect is earned.[/li][li]A man should always have options when it comes to women & wealth.[/li][li]Men are naturally polygynous…there is no such thing as ‘the one’.[/li]

Life has taught me that I owe nobody nothing. If you don’t work hard for yourself no one will.
The only people I care about before making any decisions are my parent and kids.
Even the wife can go to hell if she isn’t happy with any decision I make.

Mine:- A man lives on hope. hope for a better tomorrow. It’s never that serious and no matter how tough a situation is it shall come to pass. just give it time.
A man is ninety nine percent animal and one percent human, understand the one percent and the rest is easy.

Contradictory statement, you owe nobody but yet you care about your parents and kids?
