Egypt can bomb the dam in 2020, and ensure un-interrupted flow of the Nile for a few years… but the enmity they will create will last for decades… remember this issue of the Dam in Ethiopia is a national issue… what if Ethiopia becomes more powerful than Egypt after 10yrs ???
Egypt will be the long term looser if they decide to use force… They should never leave the negotiation table.
But sometimes i always wonder what would be the situation if Arab Egypt was the source of the Nile and the Black African nations depended on the Nile , we would be long gone.

The main issue is that the dam will reduce the Nile waters due to its massive capacity. Egypt was proposing that the dam should be filled periodically during the annual rainy season which might take around 7 yrs and Ethiopia is having none of it. Imagine putting up such a massive investment and you can only use it after 7yrs.
If Egypt decides to bomb the Ethiopian dam, remember also Egypt have their own dams too like Aswan high dam that will also be targeted in retaliation. Sisi was just trying to whip up emotions but even he himself knows military intervention is not an option to be considered.
