mbogi = gang . i can trace that word from kikuyu. In kikuyu the train “containers” (or whateva the name r called) r called mbogi (or makumbi) so when people travelled together in those containers they usually said “tuoka twi mbogi” (tumekuja tukiwa mbogi), so even when people traveled together either by foot or by whateva means they were referred to as mbogi . nowadays in sheng it simply means gang or squad or “team”.
bogi is actually the swahili word for one compartment of a train…so twoka kwa mbogi includes Kikuyu-ization of the word “Bogi”.
