What was that kiboko ya Stima?

While growing up in late 1990s, there was news that prisoners would be subjected to kiboko ya Stima. What was this thing? Courts would award a prisoner up to 16 vibokos. I think it may not have been kiboko ya Stima, but why was it so dreaded? Anybody with first hand experience @Abba @ChifuMbitika

I believe Oyugi was the last Kenyan to be nyong’wad. Went to school with his brother, who was the ‘sensei’ (leader) of our Karate Club.

Mwenye alinyongwa was Ochuka bana.Hakuna mtu by the name Oyugi amewai kunyongwa.

Must have been a whip with electric shock. Kuna a distant uncle alikuwa jailbird ambaye alifunguliwa 1992 from Kamiti. It was said that alichapwa moja when being released. The guy allegedly came all the way from Nairobi to shaggz while standing in the matatu coz hangeweza kuketi. And he spent like one month without ever sitting down until he got healed. That thing must have been quite painful.

Opiyo alikuwa karao of the rank of Superintendent, he tortured people at Nyayo house but not in prison, that was left to wardens.
