All those rappers will tell you how they grew up listening to motown music in their homes. This is further evidenced by the amount of sampling of motown music (and/or music of that era) in A LOT of hiphop music. Hiphop didnt just spring into being!

Yes motown itself did not produce hip hop even though the question states which label had the biggest impact (nothing about production there) but works emanating from its studios are used as a benchmark for hip hop production, to the point where other artistes have to pay royalties to use samples from motown
