Which venture is viable?

Recently One of my Uncles living in Trumpistan was around and I have been on his case for quite a while on getting him to help me financially develop some viable investments. He eventually headed my call and for the past few weeks I have been up and down doing research on viable businesses that I can get in.

One of the the things that came up was Matatu business and I have been weighing it from a hearsay point of view that one can make between 7-8k a day depending on the route as well as the sacco etc.

The other similar option was having 8 or 10 tonne truck for transport (not really sure how much income)alongside a hardware business and with a budget of approximately 6m i am torn in between the two:

[li]A 26 or 29 seater Isuzu NPR/NKR minibus going for 3.9m or 4.9 m[/li][li]An Isuzu FRR 10 tonne truck going for 5.2 m or a simmilar option from TATA, Mitsubishi Fuso etc[/li][/ul]
I would like to hear about sentiments on villagers experienced in either of the two ventures and first hand info on their viability. Your contributions will be highly appreciated and also help others as well

Kama ni matatu just make sure wewe ndiye dereva. Period!

Hardware tafuta place ina develop you will make a killing.
Lorry za transport not bad as it moves when there is job to be done unless matatu kubahatisha

How about registering it in a sacco where they manage it and get give me back my worth since driving it is not an option for me

How much do you have?

Watakuruka pia…gari itakaa kwa shimo siku mbili bila wateja. Plus it really all depends on the driver ukipata driver mjanja mwenye hatakuibia…then you will be ok

That is the word about Hardware business but how do term a developing place? Mahali kuna lots of construction or just upcoming towns

Ukiskia place kuna buloti fat fat, huko sasa kama kamulu, kite, joska

I asked one of the drivers from Zuri sacco and he told me izi isuzu buses zko poa. They have to give 8k a day to the management. All their salos are from that. Fanya hesabu sasa.

So 8k is net income ama salo zinatoka hapo pia? and this is for 29 seaters or 33?

Salos, parking, maintenance etc. Zko inclusive kwa hiyo 8k. That is a 33 seater.

Boss… Look at long term. Nunua ploti weka rentals, something that will be still standing even after ur gone. Build ur legacy.

jenga plot io pesa kidogo ya rent u’ll figure out which business to do, right now you have no capacity to handle 6m in a business

usijenge plot hio return on investment inataka time

Ukinunua mat, usisahau kununua viti mbili pia.

Utajua tu place za kuzieka in due time.

Buy a smaller truck and have it converted into a water bowser. Those guys are raking in thousands daily owing to the current water scarcity in the city caused by the inefficient and thieving Kidero.
When water supply resumes, convert it to an exhauster, kazi mingi.

if you want to get into the transport business, avoid matatu biz, utamea kihara sooner rather than later. Afadhali ufungue hardware Na lorry or pickup ya kusafirisha mizigo ya customer. Alternatively, make a safe bet and invest in real estate. Rentals zinahitajika kwa wingi.

Been talking to someone in the Matatu business, he has now three 14-seaters Ukambani(Kitui-Nairobi route) telling me income varies between 8-15k a day. But as many have mentioned before: having a reliable driver is the main ingredient.

maybe conductor
